Need help finding basic curtain rod
Comments (4)Sorry, been a few days since I've had a chance to check in. Les917, I'm trying desperately to avoid something I have to paint. I've gone down that road, and it wasn't pretty! I can find TONS of double rods in other colors, but I'm searching & searching for something that's "ready to go". $150 for just the brackets, that I have to paint myself, is a bit steep considering what it's being used for, too. Wow, I had no idea brackets could cost so much. But I will certainly peruse the site a bit more and see what else they have. Thanks for the point in that direction! monkeyjac, those are the "industrial" type metal ones I was referring to. I need a deocrative rod. I figured tons of people here might have secret curtain rod resources, but maybe this is more of a universal challenge than I expected. :) I continue the search......See MoreNeed off-the-shelf curtain rods that won't drive me crazy
Comments (5)If you want wood - Home Depot sells a 96" wooden pole in white or mahogany. They have matching brackets and rings. You'll need a support bracket in the middle. Oops - just saw your preference for brass finishes....See MoreExtra wide sliders; how wide should my curtain rods be?
Comments (15)To clarify my numbers. Take the width of the window. Add 10%., That's width x 1.1. Thar's how much the total width of the curtains will cover. When the windows are pulled back all the way so that the window is completely uncovered, the amount of wall that the curtains will cover is 10% of the width of the window. That is. you have to allow for, in your case, 14.7 inches of wall space to be covered when you open the curtains fully. This is for light weight unlined fabric. You will have more of the wall covered with heavier or lined fabric, according to the formula I gave in my previous comment. As for not being able to pull the curtains back over the needed supports for the curtain rod, you can get a curtain rod that will let you do so. You need to look for a specialty rod, not one where the rings surround the rod....See MoreAnyone use a regular curtain rod to hang a shower curtain?
Comments (5)Actually had two shower curtains on my alcove shower. One was a fixed shower curtain that was hung on an exterior rod from wall to wall. It had a valance and two fixed panels, one on either side. Then, I had another shower curtain. This was a plain white cloth curtain that was on the rod. It was on rings that also included a plastic curtain for water protection. So....two rods. An exterior one. That was covering my end walls/tiles. Then, a regular bath rod that held both a fabric outer curtain and a plastic one. We no longer have this system or I would post a photo. But, yes...it can be done!...See Morefunkyart
