Hooray! I had a gal over yesterday and I had had some Monarchs eclose so I showed her how to test for OE. She couldn't believe how easy it was. Of the four tested, one showed some slight OE spore infestation (I was glad yet not, at the same time-she had some printed material on OE so it was good that she got to 'see' it, if you know what I mean). We discussed the importance of sterilization (she saw how fanatical I was when that one showed the OE) so it was a good lesson. :) OKSandy, thanks. :) I am trying to provide as much info as possible on my little blog as possible. Even though someone else might be liable, I would question whether their insurance company has the right to deny their claim. Their insurance company would pay the claim and then would then go after the company (or their insurance company) who WAS liable - which might take a court to determine. After your folks receive a written denial, I would call their state Insurance Commissioner and file a complaint. Most insurance companies do NOT want the Insurance Commissioner involved. Most every state has free legal services for people over 60, regardless of income, through contract awarded by the Area Agency on Aging and Legal Services Corporation. However, the services are very limited and might not cover this type of problem, but it is worth a call. While most Legal Aid's are prohibited from suing for damages, they might take a case where an insurance company is shirking their coverage. Basically from some research on my own, I can only have so many foster animals at a time. The usual, provide clean living conditions, food, water, vet care, etc. Which is all fine with me, just wondering if anyone else has this. What I should do, not do, the usual. I love all of my furbabys. Try to do as much as I can without taking away from the dog and two cats of my own. My husband and kids just role their eyes, "how long is this one going to stay?". Then I catch them petting or playing with them, or whatever. I did have to draw the line when I found out the dog was dragging the kittens around with thier head in his mouth! He cleaned, played and baby set them, great dog. I am getting a 2-3 year old kitty that is a "return" of 1 1/2 year adoption. Another foster mom held onto her for me until I got back and settled from out of state. She said all this cat does is sit in corner all day and tremble or hide. I got a feeling some thing bad has happened to this one. This has been going on for about an month. Will let you know what we find out from the vet visit and when I get her home. Poor babies...

Oh gosh. When I read the title of this post I was wondering what comments were going to be made.....I didn't move out until I was 26! I started work right after high school graduation, worked a year there, then got a better paying job, bought a house when I moved out at 26, and retired after 30yrs. You know I'm always hesitant to let people in on the fact I left home so late. I think the suggestion to SAVE money should be right up there at the top. I didn't make much money at either job and the last one not for years, but I wished I'd put a little away. It would have helped so much. You get tired of eating lima beans and rice every night.
