We have SW Blonde in our MB. Our bed was purchased prior to or reno and painting. Our frame is a pewter-type finish. It looks great. I've used pewter accessories as I collect old English pewter. Thought it would be an odd pairing, but then someone suggested thinking about the colonial times when pewter was one of the main accessorizing metals. Worked perfectly with the Blonde which I believe is on the same strip as the Restrained.

Had I picked the bed finish before changing the paint in the MBR, I would have picked either the aged bronze or black.

So exciting to be getting a new bed! I am sure that whichever finish you choose, the room will be stunning!

I really like the black suede

I like the aged Bronze the best and then the old Copper. The black is very nice also in the matt finish and even in the suede finish. I like the style you chose for your bed and I feel any of the finishes that are you considering will look great. Please let us know what you end up choosing.

flat black- it looks like a vintage cast iron bed. then you can use it with any color of wall or bedding.

Aged Bronze. I like the hint of gold in it and it will look beautiful against your wall. Plus it goes well with the jewel colors you have.

I happened to be lurking and saw your post. :)

I honestly don't think you can make a bad choice here...both the bronze and the black would look great with your other choices. That said, I would probably lean towards the Aged Bronze for your room. I think the golden undertones would match nicely with the pulls on your wood furniture.

I can also see the black working too...I think it would provide more of a contrast with your furniture and the walls...but I would be tempted to change your pulls to black ones, if going with a black bed.

I happen to have similar colors in my living room and I have one wood (distressed oak) end table and one black end table. My red drapes remind me of your red bedspread and my walls are yellow (probably lighter than yours). Maybe if I post a few pics that could help you decide how much contrast you are looking for.

I like the aged bronze...seems like it would complement the hardware on your dressers, your red spread and the wall color you plan. That is a beautiful bed, it will last forever and will be a great investment. Post pictures whenever you get it.

I agre with the above posters that, whatever you choose, it will look stunning. I don't know where you're located, but you'll find that most of the stores will have a WA catalog, but no "real" finish samples. We went through the same thing when we were picking a WA bed, and we wanted it to look good next to our nightstands which have a bronze-ish finish along the edges.

I think the finish we chose was the aged bronze and we are very happy with it. I like that it has a textured finish, and touches of gold showing through. There are also areas that are darker and some few areas that are greenish. I like the contrast against our tan walls, and how it looks with our upholstered headboard, and the finish isn't so dark that you lose the details. Sorry I don't have photos with the nightstands or with the bed made up.

That being said, if you're a matchy-matchy person, like I am, finding the right lamps for the nightstands might become a major project. I finally found lamps with the right look, but they didn't provide the right light. Now I have new lamps that provide good lighting, but they're not the perfect finish. So I'll either leave it alone or try to change it myself--but I have way too much to do to change it now.

Just to give you an idea for the level of contrast between brown and black with a similar wall color and red fabric, I've included pictures of my living room.

My paint color probably leans more yellow than gold (it is BM Mushroom Cap), but my red curtains remind me of your bedspread.

Meg - Thanks for posting those pics. I really like your headboard. The fabric is really pretty. The metal looks pretty solid in color but it's probably just my monitor. Can you tell the variation of color without getting up close?
I'm on the east coast. After looking at the where to buy section on WA I contact a couple different places. The one place doesn't even sell the beds anymore! Left WA know that so they could fix their site, they thanked me but it's the same. The other places didn't carry samples of the finishes which I think is crazy. Isn't it pretty standard to have some type of small samples?

I'm leaning towards the Aged Bronze. I think I'm going to show DH the choices and ask him which he likes best. He said he didn't care before but I'm sure he'll have an opinion if I show him.

I'll be sure to let you know what we end up with! I'm getting so impatient for a bed. The past couple years we've been sleeping in a full. Finally got the queen mattress but need the pretty part. :)

I like both black and the bronze! Hey, I guess if I didn't like the bronze I could always paint it someday right? lol I doubt I'd actually do that.

I have a black iron bed from LL Beans. I dont know if you have looked or compared . I found that LL Bean was very inexpensive ( I believe I paid under 500 for a king size) And they come with a lifetime warrenty. You cant beat there customer service. They offer free shipping many times a year. Good Luck

Finally. We just ordered a bed in the aged bronze.

It's funny, I've had it picked out for some time now yet when it came down to actually "ordering" it took me forever. A bed is a large purchase that you're going to live with for some time.

I'll post photos when we get it arrives. I figure if I tire of the finish later in life, I can always paint it black. :)
