The stones you've chosen really go well with the camel paint, but the ones that have a lot of that color are too much for me, and like you say, you like to repaint a lot (I can identify) and you probably want something that will look good with whatever new look you'll want in the future. All of that narrows me to the Costa Esmeralda (which has tan to connect with the walls, but it's not overwhelming and offers other chances for change later) or your hubby's choice. I do have to say that I love those honed Jet Mist pieces, and I love dark gray, tan, and cream together. They have enough movement to be very interesting, but without stealing the show or fighting with other elements and colors. Certainly, almost any color of furniture or paint you come up with in coming years will go with the dark gray and cream combo.

Everything rhome said (except that I don't want to repaint often - picking out cols once is enough for me!). Me too - Jet Mist Honed (Gorgeous) or the Costa Esmerelda (always gorgeous).

Jet Mist or the second picture. I think the second picture would bring out the wall paint color and the SS appliances. Not that you want to bring out either of those things, but I guess I'm trying to say that they would flow very well!

Honed jet mist is perfect if you like to change your paint colors. Plus, with stainless it works very well. You could also use some red accent pieces on your counters that would pick up your red sofa. A friend of mine just had honed jet mist installed and it is fabulous.

Ummm, I like the Crema Bordeaux (the last one), since it is what I have :) It does have red/burgundy in it....Buddyrose has Crema Bordeaux with cream cabinets, if you want to look up pics

I have honed jet mist with white cabinets, brick red walls and marble subways. It's been in almost two years and I still love it. My second choice would be the costa esmerelda.

I've never seen anything like the Jet Mist; awesome! I can understand why you are having a difficult time choosing between them. All your picks are beautiful and so very different from each other.

All that you've chosen will go nicely with your camel paint. However, Jet Mist will go with not only your camel color, but also your red accents (don't especially like Costa Smeralda with red) and virtually any color you repaint down the road. I like the bottom pic (Juparana Gem?) but it's too close to the camel color and it might clash with some red accessories). The first two are just too much brown blah for this color-loving person.

Wow, I'll go against the grain here and vote *against* the jet mist honed. Too cold and gray for me - I'd rather have warmth and color. Not loving the costa esmeralda either.

I *am* loving the giallo ornamental and whatever that second slab is - gorgeous! The second one has some gray in it, which would look nice with the SS appliances, but not too much - it's still very rich. The last slab is stunning, but might be a little too much for me.

So overall, my first choice is the second slab, and my second choice is the first slab. :-)

Well, I don't usually like gallo ornamental but it looks really good with your finishes and would be easy to redecorate next to. I love green, but I don't like the costa esmerelda as much with your things, and the one shown between them doesn't do it for me.

The jet mist is gorgeous, and is very neutral so safe for paint changing. If you like a lot of high contrast, the traditional black and white kitchen look, this is a good one. It has a lot of character and dimension without being busy or stark.

The bottom one is amazingly gorgeous, but I think the scale is wrong for your kitchen, it swallows the paint, and might not be great with the red sofa. But it's really yummy.

My vote is for gallo ornamental or the bottom jet mist, depending on whether you want light or dark counters.

I love the movement in the second granite. It looks great with your cabs and paint and has enough going on that you could pick out one of the other colors in it if you wanted to repaint.

I love the movement in some of your choices. But color wise, I would have to go with the Jet Mist. I really like the first Jet Mist large slab. It looks wrinkled and textured, does that make sense??

I see you already like red accents :) That's a great showplace for your red bowl in the glass cabinet! and is that a red pattern I see in the dishtowel? You are very open to your LR so I think hubby is right in keeping those colors in mind.

BTW, I love your current paint color. It's a look I am going for right now. Thanks for listing the color so I can go hunt it down!

I like the second one best and you wouldn't have to repaint, but with the red and for flexibility I'd say Jet Mist. The last one is to die for but too busy for your kitchen, and you'd be locked into that paint color (looks great with it). I don't like the Esmeralda at all with your paint or sofa.

Wow, That first Jet Mist is STUNNING! I have never seen it before, it looks like soapstone I think it will look great with your cabinets. But if I was going by the paint color you choose I would pick the second granite or the Costa Esmerelda.

I wish I could have 5 houses with 5 kitchens and then

Jet Mist Honed is the winner.
It is in my price range, my DH likes it (This is
important), it is neutral enough that if I paint
the kitchen Blue, Green, Gold, Yellow, Orange, Purple...
or whatever strikes my fancy next year I won't have
to change the counters too., it looks like soapstone,
and when I look at it with affection it reminds me
of landing at the airport looking through a haze of clouds.

Yes it is a Bosch. I have all new Bosch appliances.
Electrolux seems really nice too. My DH loves German
engineering from cars to toys.
I did a lot of research. on Epinions. Great deal at Lowes.
The Frige is the Integra 800. Super wonderful. Quiet and
far larger than I ever expected. I used to have a JennAir
Superba and that was a monster but held everything. This
Bosch is much nicer. I am truly impressed by it.

The Bosch range.. Well it is a little louder than I
planned. I thought it would be as quiet as the dw. The
cooktop area is quiet but the oven has
a convection fan that tends to make it a little louder.
Not terrible but silent. Although the warming
drawer is awesome. I used to have a horrible GE cooktop
and two super double ovens that took too much space.
This range replaced all three.
I like the space I have now. Or I will like it when I am done.

Great choice! Love it. Stunning kitchen.

I like half bullnose, for sure. I went with a standard square for my granite, to match up the edge of my butcherblock. I especially like the inside corner edge - a nice curve. Hadn't occurred to me to ask what they were going to do there!

Chatted with a soapstone installer/fabricator yesterday - he said that they only supply standard square. Not sure why, but i can see it looking good. And since honed jet mist reminds me of soapstone, maybe it would look good in that edge too? Maybe it would depend on your style of hardware?

boxerpups: I have a red sofa, too. In my Co-op not the cottage. And my walls are BM Wilmingtan, which is close to your Camel Coat. How funny that you went with black and I picked crema bordeaux because of the red veins running thru it.

In my cottage, I was toying with the idea of black so it would look like soapstone but love the look of shiny granite so picked something else. It's exciting and nerve wracking but wonderful all at the same time. Love your kitchen BTW. Can't wait to see more photos.

Hi, just wanted to comment on the honed jet mist. Mine was just installed yesterday - LOVE, LOVE, LOVE IT. And yes, I'm shouting that. You will too. I looked at Deee 's countertops and fell in love. And yes the second they installed it, it reeeeally looks alot like soapstone without the maintenance of soapstone. I will take some pictures tonight and hopefully learn how to post them on here. We have barely off-white inset cabinets (milk color) and I'm going right now to pick up the sample for my backsplash - 2" x 2" carrera marble tile. Can't wait to get that done. Congrats on your choice - you are going to love it. Thanks also to Deee for the inspiration photos.
