highly recommend knight kitchens in vt (near rutland). custom cabinets but not crazy expensive. i know it's not near boston but we've worked w/them via email & fax. we're in nj and have gone up there once. we're in the final stages of our kitchen design w/paula vaicunas (one of their design consultants). she was here a couple of weeks ago doing final measurements. definitely worth a call!!!! their # is 800-773-8777 (paula's extension is 24)

We used Packard's Kitchens in Burlington and are very happy with the results. They carry several lines, we used Cabico, a semi-custom line that has A LOT of options.

I used Central New England Distr 223 Main St, Woburn. I was looking for a rustic and distressed look and I was trying to keep the renovation below 20K. They had the most rustic, distressed to choose from and also came in lower then most. Everything worked out great. Not sure where you live but I think there main office is in Northboro.

I did visit a gazillion places, even the big box stores. If you drive around, you'll notice there's cabinet places everywhere!! Did your KD leave you with the drawings with measurements? The cabinet places have very knowledgeable employees who can work up your plan and give you a quote. I would go to a bunch close by and find cabinets you love, then sit down with somebody there.
