Boston area marble recommendation

I know this isn't kitchen directly but so many people use marble and there's more traffic here. I'm looking for a marble company recommendation for the Boston area. I have a marble fireplace mantel and surround. I'm planning on a gas insert (Valor president)next month and need some marble installed around the opening. It's missing a piece on the top plus I need the opening to be 2" smaller on the sides. I also need one marble "leg" to be fixed (pulling away from wall) and the fireplace needs to be polished. My granite installer was OK but I would prefer someone who may specialize or is very good at marble. Any leads would be great. Thanks!

Here's a picture of the FP during renovations. The vent was for an old gas boiler and now the pipe is cut and the floor bricked over. Our furnaces are direct vent. The left side of the mantel is pulling away.

Pam, I think laurainlincoln has marble and is in the Boston area. I know there are tons of folks on here who are ... I'll bump this for you.

I can't help with the marble, but I do want to comment on how nice it is to see you move from project to project in your home.

I'm from Plymouth, MA and can appreciate watching you restore your old Boston home! I am sure that fireplace will be beautiful when you are finished!

When I think of conifers in a garden Adrian Bloom of course comes to mind. He has a number of good books that include useful info about conifers but perhaps his Gardening with Conifers or Adrian BloomÂs Year-Round Garden would be good books to pick up. Not far from you in Wellesley is the Mass. Hort. Elm Bank property where Adrian Bloom designed the Bressingham garden that was installed 2yrs(?) ago. This is a superb example of a mixed border that includes conifers and might be worth your time to check it out. Paul Miskovsky, Miskovsky Landscaping Inc., Falmouth, MA who worked closely with Adrian Bloom on the installation and continues to donate his time is in your neck of the woods often enough that you might give him a call regarding your plans. kt

Aujourd'hui and L'espalier (french) are both excellent places for a celebration. Yes they're upper crust but you go there when you're celebrating getting a PhD (esp. from a Boston-area Cambridge, perhaps? University ;-) ). A less expensive cousin to L'espalier is Sel de la Terre and is run by the same establishment. Personally, I prefer their waterfront version to the new one on Boylston street. Food is really good. Craigie on Main is another excellent choice, as is Clio. FYI, Ken Oringer (of Clio) was one of the chefs that appeared on Iron Chef America and really impressed the judges from the "the genius in that brain of yours" and "you've trained your staff to implement your billiance" noises the judges made ;-). He won that challenge by a mile - and the reason he did shows in the food he serves at his restaurant. Fantastic. But so is Craigie Street B. Hammersley's bistro is also very good but it has been a good many years since I've eaten there. All of these but for Sel de la Terre do run up a pretty penny though, it has to be said.
