Color Through Laminate Counter Top + Undermount Sink
Comments (7)I'd never heard of a Karran sink before. I've learned so much here! I thought it might be hard to clean, since it's fiberglass, but the description on their website doesn't make it sound that way. I thought, from looking at the FKB, that you had Corian counter tops, but I guess note. What brand of laminate do you have? Is it the regular, thinner laminate. That's great they could do that. I looked at your pictures and it looks good to me. Is there some kind of edging applied where the laminate is cut for the sink? I was looking at the thicker laminates, in part, because I thought that they couldn't put an undermount sink in with the regular laminate. Obviously, that's not entirely true. Now I need to go do a Google search and find out what Counter-Seal is and how it works....See MoreHas anyone ever painted their kitchen countertops???
Comments (18)My mother painted hers years ago. Some type of faux finish. They held up pretty well for several years, but didn't age well. My cousin helped me update her home for sale (as I live out of state). They did some kind of spray on finish. I haven't seen it in person, but it looks amazing in pictures. Almost like quartz. Even turned the bright yellow sink black. It only cost $500 for her huge kitchen and can with a lifetime guarantee. Everyone who has seen the house has told me they were surprised I spent the $$ for new countertops! I will try to find out what its called....See MoreLivingstone Countertops/Corian Countertops/Laminate
Comments (6)We have LivingStone counters in the "Volcanic Ash" color and an integrated Corian brand sink (LS doesn't offer a single bowl sink so we went w/Corian in order to have a single bowl sink). LS feels identical to Corian and I understand it to be an identical product with a good warranty and identical care but far fewer color options. Our counters/sink are only a little over a year old but I LOVE them--nothing has stained (at least nothing that a little bleach won't take care of) and they feel/look great. Integrated sink is the most wonderful design ever. LS counters are great, low maintenance counters with what we felt were the most pros (all counter options have pros and cons and you have to make a decision that will suit you and your lifestyle the best)....See MoreLaminate counter tops in otherwise luxurious kitchen? Any advice?
Comments (97)I just had to post here...OMG...the lady that wrote Laminate and luxurious in the same sentence.."NO". I hope I never have to meet someone like you in my lifetime. What a bunch of snobby, snarky..people! I am sorry..I think you can have a beautiful, luxurious kitchen without paying for granite, quartz, soapstone...etc. My goodness. I am building a house now and get to hear from our subs about all of the snooty women that they have to deal with...literally walking out of a house because the closets aren't big enough... What kind of country have we become? I say..if you want to buy high end appliances...beautiful cabinets..and put it all in a laminate kitchen. I think it can be stunning! Don't listen to all of these snooty fruities.....do what YOU want..and the people that matter...won't walk into your kitchen and take a mental note of your laminate..I would think it was beautiful! And for those of you who think that I must be some low life...my husband is a doctor! There....rant over! :-)...See More- 15 years ago
