Has anyone ever painted outlet and light switch covers?
Comments (19)I've lived with a grubby little boy, then a grubby teen, and a grubby DH and a possible grubby me for many years. I have had painted outlet covers - they get grubby, and they don't clean up nearly as well as the original finish plastic covers. I leave all outlet and switchplate covers naked....See MoreHas anyone ever used Siteline kitchen cabinets in iceberg white?

Comments (30)I did not take the doors off. I sanded, cleaned and sanded again. I used SW dark primer, then sanded again. Two coats of SW cabinet paint in Distance, and then new hardware. In order to open and close the doors and drawers, I made “pulls” with painters tape that I put on the inside, taped to the top edge and then folded over. Last thing to get painted were the top edges. This paint does dry in 2-3 hours so the job didn’t take days and days of waiting to dry. The dark primer covered the oak really well. Comments (10)Thanks for everyone's comments so far. I did let the refacing company know that it's not the same color as the door sample, but he didn't know what they could do to fix it. I hate to ask them to completely redo all their work. My guess as to what happened is that the company who makes the doors for them changed their color mix, and the refacing company hadn't updated their door samples. The door sample is from 2019. So in other words, it's likely the fault of the refacing company, but it's still a big ask for them to completely redo everything (especially since they're a small company). I have thought about the lighting. We have a solar tube in the kitchen, so we might add a filter to make the light coming in more yellow during the day. The gray undertone in the cabinets are less noticeable to me in the evenings when we have the overhead lights on in the kitchen. Can the glazing really cause crackling?...See Moreboxerpups
