Love your J.Child and mine too. I am so happy with her. I put her in the ground 3 months ago and she's on her 3rd flush!! I did pay a premium at $35 but I knew that and was happy to find such a healthy and well established potted plant. I will be getting more of her in the future. I also have 2 Z.Drouhin's but mine are only 6+/- months old and a little shaded (that's one reason I picked her) but I can't wait til she really puts out. Hi I had a similar situation from my first marriage . Saw my daughter once at two months and then again 35 years later lol The meeting was arranged by friends and she was at their home during a visit to my home town . Total surprise for me lol Interesting that during the meeting I had no idea who she was but immediately noticed how much she looked like her mother 35 years ago of course lol She was married and had children of her own my grandchildren which were almost teenagers . had intentionally avoided the meeting as I was totally unprepared to explain what happened . Interestingly that was not a problem we talked mostly about her kids and her mother her life but almost nil about the past. She said that she was very happy to have finally met me as my name had come up in conversations over the years lol Wasn't bad and am sort of glad that it happened though I certainly wouldn't have arranged it She returned to her life and me to mine naturally and since we live almost 2000 miles apart we do exchange info a bit. Has tapered off in the last few years My grandchildren send me Christmas and Birthday cards As to your problem there's really only two choices either do it now or much much later?? Wow, that is so sad about their home situation. I know it's generally hard to take kids from their biomoms, but in this case, w/ all the documentation I imagine you have (start now if you don't) and the inexplicable tardies and absentees at school, I'd certainly check w/ an atty to see if something could change. This home environment description made me dizzy just reading about it - I cannot fathom any child having to endure such conditions. My Dnephews lived similarly, except that BM did not drink. But, she isn't clean w/ herself or the kids and I basically raised them when they were small. She grew resentful of our closeness, my involvement, etc. She complained to the principal that my oldest DN's teacher (he is autistic) was dealing w/ me and that I was not the parent. The teacher tried to deal w/ her - to no avail, so she recruited me at my DN's insistence. Anyway, for a few years, the boys thrived when I was involved, but then I was shut out. It broke my heart - happened when my first born was six mos. old and I always wanted the boys to know it wasn't because I had a child, then two, now three little boys of my own. Anyway fast forward to last night. Youngest DN came over, needing help w/ algebra. I was a math minor, so I was always volunteering to help each of the boys (three, also) but wasn't allowed. Turns out DN doesn't know his multiplication tables - TENTH grade. How can you be pushed through school beyond third grade and not know them? I didn't judge, criticize, or anything - we did his assignments, reviewed multiplication, and I made him promise to come over several times/week. My point is that I have felt lousy ever since. Might these boys have stood more of a chance had I fought more to keep myself in the loop? My hands were legally tied - she and my brother divorced - he never wanted to 'rock the boat' and now I have a DN who's a So. struggling terribly, one who's a Sr. that should be an A student, but barely gets by, and my oldest DN who isn't doing anything since graduation a few mos. ago (the autistic one.) Hang in there and try to make a difference. I can't tell you how badly I feel about my DNs. To me, they are my "big" boys and my sons are my "little" boys, but I do view them all as MINE. That code does not state that one cannot make a crib; it states that one cannot make or sell a *drop-side* crib, and that immobilizing the drop side does not make it okay, as it's still a drop-side crib. The rest of it is the specs for a non-drop-side crib being made or sold. The link SashaDog provided also does not restrict who can make cribs; it specifies who will be held to the standards for cribs and definies what constitutes a crib. I think you may have misread someof the semi-colons as colons ... it lists groups to which the statute applies: those manufacturing and/or selling cribs were one such group, those in child care and various other facilities and situations were another group, not a definitition of the first group. If you do not fully understand the standards of making a crib, design or manufacture should probably be contracted out to someone who does. Throwing out ideas that have not been created to standard because "it was a joke" runs the risk of someone not reading the part about it being a joke and trying to make it without understanding the safety concerns because they saw the idea on the internet and thought that made it okay.
