Thanks Carla and Monarda! I'm really surprised at how much difference adding the arbor makes, it created a whole other "room" in the garden. JC's blooms remind me of swirled butter..very appropriate for a chef.

Thanks Terry, I should add that JC is showing some disease resistance. I've fallen behind on my spraying and Zeffy, Gertrude Jeckyll, and Abe Darby are showing blackspot...but not Julia Child. I wish I would have bought more at that sale...6 bucks a piece with shipping included...jeesh!

Your JC looks so pretty! My HD JC is still kind of little, though healthy.

I think Zepphie is going to eat that arch for breakfast and take on the rest of your yard for lunch, but maybe in zone 6 it will be more restrained. Pretty yard!

Thanks Hoov. I remember you posted pics of yours a while back. I still remember your pics of your Golden Celebration. Every time I think about getting that rose, your pictures are what I see. Zeffy is growing unbelievably fast, I think I may have my own "Find Flo" worthy specimen in not too long.

Every time I decide I have enough yellow roses someone just has to flash JC at me, LOL* Beautiful Eric, your pics are wonderful. Wish I had the room for an arbor, hmmm. Maybe I have to start taking over the front yard now that the back is just about all mine. I love the last two pics it's wildly beautiful and lush looking. But, what is the purple showing in the next to the last pic? Great contrast there, and it's my biggest weakness too.

Thanks Leslie. I didn't think I had room for an arbor either, this was an necessity. Zeffy's long canes were flopping across, blocking the path :)

I've stuffed quite a few roses in my front yard, I say go for it. The purple is the aptly named Purple Loosetrife, looking decidedly more pink in this picture from earlier in the summer.

Love your J.Child and mine too. I am so happy with her. I put her in the ground 3 months ago and she's on her 3rd flush!! I did pay a premium at $35 but I knew that and was happy to find such a healthy and well established potted plant. I will be getting more of her in the future. I also have 2 Z.Drouhin's but mine are only 6+/- months old and a little shaded (that's one reason I picked her) but I can't wait til she really puts out. Great job and I'll be checking back to see how your garden comes along. Great bargain you got for JC!!!
