How to reduce weight of heavy blackout lining?

Hello, I'm planning to sew pinch-pleat drapes using microsuede fabric, two 54" widths per panel plus black out lining, but it will be HEAVY.

I saw the following suggestion on another post and was hoping to get more details because it looks like a great idea but I don't quite get it.

"The worse problem is the weight of the fabric. One thing to eliminate some of this is to make .... the lining like a shower curtain & put buttonholes the same distance as your drape hooks & hang it there. "

I don't understand how this would work with pinch pleat drapes. Where exactly do you hang the lining? Is it hung on the back of the pleats on the same hooks as the pleats? Do you have to stitch the tops together?

Also, when the drape is open (ie. drawn to the side), won't the lining bunch up behind the drape and fall inconsistently with the face fabric? Help! as you can tell, I'm quite confused :)
