BM Paint. Not Green Not Brown - Grownn. Breen.

I need to do a repaint of my morning room.

I want a color that is sort of a "neutral", but green.

FLOWERING HERB is very, very close to what I am looking for ---- but it has a bit too much color. I think that means it's a bit too green, not enough brown/neutral. ( I am using brown and neutral to say the same thing)

Depth of color - medium. (Is that called "color saturation"?)

When I look at colors more to the brown side, I seem to lose the green. I do want it to be green. (Not sagey, tho; more khaki-ish).

Does anyone have a suggestion for me from either of the BM fan decks - Color Preview, or Classic Color? (I don't have those newest colors they have for that new line of paint.....which, btw, I only and always use "that new line of paint". Yikes! Don't ask me my age).

Take a look at Crown Point Sand HC-90. It's just a smidge off Flowering Herb.

My favorite is BM Baby Turtle. Very browned green color that I think looks great w/ blues and shows off of natural wood tones very, very well. I have to admit that I was totally fooled once my LR was fully painted & I thought I'd made mistake #157 but once I added my olive green curtains I could see that it was perfect. I use a lot of robins egg blue & dusty purple for pops of color & it looks really nice.

Baby Turtle and Northampton Putty are olive colored with muddy tones...I'm not sure if olive is what you are looking for, though.

robo - love the grey cashmere! I vote for Quiet Moments if you want a grey/blue/green color. It's a beautiful calming color. Here it is in our guest room: Palladian Blue is also a beautiful color and is similar to QM but it has less grey and more green. Here it is in my DD's room - the window photo shows the color best:

I don't understand. You want griege, which doesn't work w/the tiles (as you have encountered). You're choosing colors that have too much gray in them. What's wrong w/Loggia or Shiitake? I think either of those would be great w/your floor tile. similar to Balboa Mist, but has more of the yellow tones to it. Or, have you tried these? You have a dominant tile floor. if you don't want to match the tone of the tile, then choose a contrasting color. (blues/ greens, etc) But to try and force a certain color range to work in that spot is silly. However, here are some of those tones you like. maybe you can find one. if you lighten the grout in those tiles, you may find certain colors work better. Grout Renew

I have SW Ramie in my house which is a very very close match to Crown Point Sand. While it does have a green undertone, it is not something you would call "green". I do like the color when there is enough light. It goes kind of sour and muddy in low light situations.

Greenbrier Beige? It's one of BM's historical colors, HC-79 on the fan deck.

Here are two that I have used and gotten so many compliments on:

Duron 5634D Herb Garden (Duron was acquired by Sherwin Williams and will know the color even though it's an older deck color). I don't understand why Duron was purchased they had the best paint in the world IMO. You could go back 5 years later and touch up with the same old can leftovers and it would match perfectly and you would NOT be able to see where you touched up at all. The colors were so true. I can't get Duron here anymore it's all Sherwin Williams which is an ok paint, but liked Duron so much better.

Another color tried and true is Benjamin Moore Danville Tan
HC91. Have gotten so many compliments on this color. It's just such a pretty color.

Both of these colors are so much prettier on the wall than in the deck. You will love them! Sounds like they are both what you are looking for, not khaki at all. I have them both in my home.

Look at BM Coastal Fog.
Used it in my kitchen a few years ago, and still love it.

I 2nd BM Coastal Fog. Neutral, tanish, grey in bright sunlight but it shows earthy olive in the evening. I love the way it looks against the white trim and ceiling in my kitchen.
