BM Pale Oak OC-20: Large project, flat vs. matte
Comments (2)The flat and matte will appear the same. Thank you Michael. That's exactly what I needed to know. DH and I had a long discussion about this last night. We did some sample areas throughout the house and have lived with them for a few weeks. He surprised me - he definitely wants to go with white ceilings now. I'm so looking forward to painting with the Matte after what I've read here. I figure that will be my reward after all the prep and priming fun. :-) Unless you can get Muralo Satin Flow. It's nicer. I'll ask my dealer if he has it. I have no issue with upgrading here if it gives better wear and is nicer to apply. Fresh Start acrylic primer is one of the best base coatings on the market. Excellent. I know my dealer stocks it in 5 gallon buckets. Thanks again for all your help!...See MoreAnyone use these BM pale blue shades? Need to choose fast
Comments (8)We ended up with Blue Angel (2058-70), which is a much warmer blue, and paired it with Ocean Breeze in an adjacent room. Both were a big change from the cool glamour I had in mind with blue-gray but they work better with our woodwork and my low-light house looks much better with them on the walls. Hope this helps!...See MoreDoes Gray Wisp read as a pale blue/green?
Comments (6)Hi, I've used Grey Wisp more than once and it is one of my favourite colours. I don't see blue in that paint colour at all. More green than anything but leaning towards grey. When I chose it, I was looking for a colour that mimicked the colour of silvery coloured moss on rocks at our cottage. I have it in a room that gets a lot of sunlight, southwest facing and it is more grey-green in that room. I also have it in a room that has an east facing window, so it only gets morning sun. It is darker looking in that room, leaning more green. I'm not sure its going to give you the grey colour you are looking for. If you can find some posts with comments from Lori Sawaya (spelling may not be correct, maybe Sayawa??)), she seems to be a wonderful Houzz resource for paint colours. Search around and if you find some of her posts she is almost sure to have made a recommendation on a grey that should work. Updated...here is a link to Lori's comments in another post. https://www.houzz.com/user/funcolors thanks...See MoreHelp pairing BM Pale Oak with what color?
Comments (6)Pale Oak likes blue/greens, so I am going to suggest B.M. Super White (which also supports blue/green as a "go with") for wainscoting and all the trim. I am not a fan of painting wainscoting a color darker than the wall above, nor painting wainscoting a different color than the rest of the traditional trim, which you show in your photo. So what white is the wainscoting now?...See More3katz4me
