I only see one photo. However, from what I can see in the photo you posted.... I would add a large horizontal mirror or a piece of art. If your place is not large a mirror would be perfect. Not sure I would keep the wooden sticks in that location though.

Like ak, I only see one photo of sticks in a narrow hall. If you are staging to sell, I would remove that from the hall. It does not seem warm or inviting. The sharp edges in a corner seem scary or harsh. I'm sure some feng shui expert could expound upon my thoughts... I think a piece of neutral art would be better at the end of the hall. If that wall is opposite your front door, I would not hang a mirror, as it will give some buyers a negative feeling. Good luck!

I agree...get rid of the sticks, at art or a mirror to the end of the hall, and consider getting a runner carpet (inexpensive at home depot) to warm up the floor.

I would not add mirrors on both ends, but rather just art work. It's kind of scary to have a mirror at the end of a hallway when you're approaching.

I like the first and second photos but there is no way I could get a table on the side of the hallway too narrow). Also because it's so long and narrow, I'm trying to make it look bigger.It is an entrance hallway, and no bedrooms- so you'd only see the mirror when you enter. I don't think thats scary? 90%of the phots I've been looking at have mirrors in them... butthats why I'm asking for suggestions!

I think the mirror would be the wrong way to go if you are staging. It reflects energy/wealth/luck back out the entry door in many cultures. Also if it's a rainy or hot humid disgusting day and a potential buyer comes into your home looking like a hot mess the first image/impression they'd have would be of himself or herself looking like a hot mess. On the other hand, The horizontal tonal stripes with coat rack and pictures at end would look great in your space. The treatment would enlarge your space visually and the coat rack and art at the end of the hall draw one further into the home. Plus there are no frames or shelves intruding into the walk space. Great neutral flow.

The mirror being bad for feng shui is unavoidable because directly across from the door when you open it is a floor to ceiling mirror closet :( To the left of the entrance door is the blank wall, and you turn right to the hallway.

Also, this is a 9th floor condo. It's 1150 sq feet, but the rooms are all narrow (including the hallway). So I'm trying to make it bigger. I don't want to add a coat rack because even walking around the small vase makes the corner feel tight. Its also redundant, because of the double sliding door (mirrored) closet across from the entrance. Which people will look into, unfortunately.

But it seems everyone is against the mirror, so I will do some mock ups of just pictures/art to see how that looks. I was also trying to get more light into the hall, as it's pretty long and can feel dark/claustrophobic. Maybe I'll look at better light fixtures.

The thing with a large mirror is that (a) it makes your hallway twice as long and (b) you see people coming towards you when you walk down the hall.
I would just put some art up and call it a day, and maybe a different light fixture.

How about a small chandelier, replacing the light that is there now, and picture(s) under it? That would be something dimensional as well as a focal when walking down the hall.

Our hall is long and narrow and pictures on both sides made it seem even narrower. But pictures at the end worked.

Now, thanks to nosoccermom, I MUST go see if Z gallerie still has that dressage horse art....I wanted it earlier in the year, forgot about it, now I need it!!!
