Comments (23)I'm in love with your space! Had a similar look in the master bedroom of our previous home, which was converted from attic space in the mid-1940s, with wood flooring and wide wood planks on the walls, much like yours. It also had those wonderful built-ins/bump-outs. I miss that space. I'd go with earthy tones cooled with natural greens and warmed by muted reds and burgundies. This is a room that was meant to wrap you up in a hug and keep you cozy....See MoreHelp! I don’t know how to make my long living room cozy

The console your TV is on now is contributing to the visual clutter - and their solution will eliminate that and clear up that corner area. Your room looks so much better with the sectional moved to the long wall. That sofa table Bevs shows really works with that end of the sofa - so you can add a lamp and make the room even more cozy. I love the curtains Bev shows and the way to hang them so they don't crowd the window (high) and full. Good luck, have fun with your new room! Comments (14)The simplest and best solution is more lighting in your room. Add floor lamps or tables and table lamps on ends of sofas; change lamp next to TV Or add wall lamps where you think best. There are so many variations on bulb brightness and color and intensity nowadays. There are fixtures available to add under your kitchen counters to improve the light on your kitchen work surfaces. Any good Home Depot or Lowe's or Batteries and Bulbs Store can offer you the help you need. Lighting is basic; the size of your rug will not improve your lighting....See MoreNeed help ?
