Brilliant use of space in the Brooklyn apartment. Many people in NY have to rent storage space because they have no room for their winter stuff in summer/summer stuff in winter. And, of course, luggage.

I think that first divider closet would be perfect between a foyer and a great room, but in the middle of an open concept room it would drive me crazy! Also, if I was looking to buy the place with the storage around the fireplace, I'm afraid the first thing I would say is "Well, that thing has got to go!" To each his own, I guess. :)
