Help with dark trim meeting white trim, etc....

I am choosing wall/ceiling/trim colors for an attic movie/game room that has a bar and 1/2 bath opening onto it. I was planning to use a medium color (SW Portobello) on the walls, but didn't want to use white trim in the movie area. I was thinking of painting the baseboards a slightly darker or dark brown shade. I also want to use dark brown paint on the bar cabinets. Next to the bar is the 1/2 bath, which inside I want to do vintage with white hex tile & trim and green walls.

Not sure how to make brown trim meet with white trim in the bathroom. Also, should the doors be white or brown?

I would paint the trim in the movie room the brown, as well as the bathroom door on the outside, and around the inside jam. The inside bathroom trim would be white, as well as the inside bathroom door.

Same as amrad said. Let the door stop trim on the jamb be your dividing point.

What color is your door going to be? Also are you doing stark white windows? BTW: In the elevation drawing I agree with you that horizontal looks better. The problem is it's hard to match a red brick color.

Looking for thoughts on exterior design colors for this home. The yellow/orange stone will remain, but a new roof will be added (currently a burnt orange color) and the siding (currently an olive green in need of TLC) and trim (currently a dark brown) will be painted. * Also when looking at the hallway ^... that photo of the "door" to the right is actually an elevator door...(Its faux painted...done before we moved here.) That is also the dilemma... if husband paints trim white... there is that door and I do NOT want to paint it white. so can the trim around the door be painted?

Paint the garage door the same color as the body or white. I like white as the trim. You have such great details, such as the siding finish, the black metal railing, and the black windows, that I think doing a color on the trim will be too busy. Simply White for Swiss Coffee. Pure White for Shoji White.
