Snowman Wall hanging

Always be prepared, my travel plans are not working out as planned ~ I'm so glad I bought something along to work on.

Unfortunately I didn't get my top as tight as I should have before quilting it's not a gife, it will hang in my office at work so I guess I can live with a few ripples. The wall hanging was suppose to represent looking out a window and seeing snow and a snowman...not sure it came off that way...oh well...lol.

Stitching looks blue and green on my screen. What thread and is it hand embroidery?? Nice!

JB, your angels are heavenly, they look great in that cabinet. The snow village is outstanding, and I love the snowman wall hanging, it really sets the mood. concretenprimroses, this is actually my second snowman that I have made. After this one, I made a 3rd snowman but I made the hat shorter. Michaels used to carry 3" resin carrots but they no longer do. That is what I used for the nose on the very first one I made. Haven't checked Hobby Lobby yet. It's about an hour from here and I was really hoping to make a few and sell them. I wonder how long the foam carrot noses would last hanging outside? On another note, I wish the people at GW would get rid of this "click here" button!!! I have clicked it several times thinking I'm clicking the "preview message." button.

These were my goals.... 1. One birthday block (finished) 2. 1 or 2 lotto blocks (unfinished...I cut out pieces to make one. They were brights, mostly batiks with WOW as background. I decided to keep them and make a "WOW, That's Colorful" pineapple block quilt with it myself!) 3. Finish washing all my fabrics for stashing...since I'm new, it's not like a truckload or anything. (washed some, purchased more, need to keep washing!) 4. Decide on a pattern for an April birthday block...maybe make it. (This has been started, but can't finish until I wash one of the fabrics!) 5. Begin and organize a notebook of birthday block participants (Bobbin Babes) along with photos of blocks I've sent and received. Hopefully everyone will post photos of all their blocks...I might add those to it also. (Started this, but won't be able to finish until the end of the year when everyone has gotten their blocks and hopefully will post photos) Not too shabby for a slow, deliberate doer like me! Salijo

SIL's parents in from England for two weeks so spending some time with them when I can, husband out of town for few days, a dear, dear grand dog died and have had an issue with some game poachers, I think and am in a sad and mad mood. Spent the last two days cleaning out junk drawers and the old canned goods from the pantry, so I have a place to store the new stuff I've been canning. I did get upstairs this morning to make and sew an applique for a quilt on the wall I've been working on for months, very sporadically. ust so I could say I worked on the quilt, LOL. I have one Dresden plate to make for it and I can sew the blocks together and move forth. Might get to it tomorrow and just 'get 'er done' to sandwich.

It will be perfect hanging in your office. I like the blue work embroidery, I have always favored that over the red work. Great choice of fabric to go with it. Did you hand applique the snowflakes? Jayne

Looks like a winter window scene to me. Very nice work on the embroidery. A pleasant change from the view of the work on your desk, isn't it?
