If you are set on SW paint, you can always buy plain white in the sheen of your liking while the sale is going on. When you finally decide on color, take it back and they will mix it for you - at charge of course.

I had my white paint for a year and just it took the other week to have mixed.

What about a sage color but more on the medium to darker side?

Just a suggestion so you don't feel rushed due to a sale.

Take a look at Sherwin Williams Retreat SW 6207. It is an interesting color that can look blue-green, green-gray and blue-gray depending on how sunny or cloudy it is.

BadgerGirl - That color looks awesome on your house! Except hubby wants to stay away from blue and I am scared of greens-- too many bad green paint experiences. I can never seem to get the color just right. Also I feel like I have so much greenery around the house that I want something that is not green. I do have BM grey wisp which is a neat blue-green-gray color. really love it.

You might want to try SW Pavestone. Its a grayish tan sort of color. One of my neighbors just painted their house and they have Pavestone and white trim. It looks really nice. It doesn't have any underlying weird colors.

I had tried a little sample of it years ago, and passed it by. I was amazed when they told me what color it is

The light color looks beautiful for exterior of home. It gives the lighting effect. The off white is best choice for exterior.

Can you get away with painting it a shade of red with white trim? I love the looks of red houses in winter snow and summer greenery. I'm not sure which of these would work best with your chiminey color but they are all nice.

jterrilynn- we did not want to do red because I hate (personal pet peeve) the pink flowering trees with red houses. Also I think red would be way too out there for the hubby. :)

I guess in my mind I am thinking a warm neutral that is not too green would be best. But not too warm (like a brown) because that would look weird with my white trim. I have BM fandeck if anyone is more familiar with BM colors

Have a look at Iced Marble by Benjamin Moore. It is a really beautiful exterior color. Very subtle, yet classy and goes well with most other colors. Also beautiful with all landscaping.

Just wanted to update. I went to SW and they did allow me to buy the paint during the sale and then I can bring it back to be tinted. They also said if I do not use any of my non-mixed paint that I could return it. So I bought 2 gallons more than I estimated, just in case. I am really happy! I save a ton of I also think I am going to go with Anonymous. I think my original problem was that I was hoping for a color and white to really dramatically change my house--- which of course is just plain silly. But I do like the color, so I am thinking of adding shutters and painting them and maybe the garage or front door a fun color that will give the house the personality I am looking for. Thanks again!

Caminnc- that iced marble color is really neat. It reminds me of my kitchen/dining room that is done in BM gray wisp. I wonder if that would work as an accent?

Now I just need to find a good accent color for SW Annonymous!
