Christmas Swap Blocks Must be Lost

I have never received my blocks from this swap. I know Red mailed them out the first week in November. I just kept hoping they would eventually be in my mailbox. No luck yet. Hope someone somewhere is appreciating everyone's fine handiwork.

Oh, I'm so sorry to hear that Liz, but don't give up. My first swap was for signature blocks when I first joined here. Gee, I think that was 2004, how time flies. Anyway, months later they were returned to sender and found. We never did figure out what happened, but at the time we blamed customs because they were coming to Canada. I don't think they were stamped by customs though, so I think they were just caught in Post Office pergatory. I hate to see it happen though.

thanks for the update carol. i'll keep my fingers crossed that it's soon. no shaking....they'll come when they are ready. afterall, there's several of them in there that have to be ready. i sometimes think i would like to move too, but i think it would take several months just to pack all the plants i would want to take with me. our weather today was still hard to take. the weeds are getting away from me. and i finally have some color on my tomatoes. been picking beans like crazy. the broccoli is really growing in a strange way. peppers are in abundance, picked several varieties of squash and corn should be ready real soon. i have a lot of work to do in my flower beds, i'm itchy to transplant things, but this isn't the time, also, this certainly isn't the weather for it.

I love to join swaps and have gotten so many awesome things in swaps in the past, but I am so sick of paying outrageous prices for shipping, when half the time the stuff is damaged and broken before it gets to you, or lost! You'd think they would try to be more careful, especially since the postal workers get high wages! But am anxious to see what you all get and hope y'all have a blast with it!

YES! I have definitely decided on the complementary fabric! I found some fabric at a local (local for me is half an hour's drive away!) small quilt shop. I've auditioned it with the blocks and I love it! Yesterday, while online, I found the same fabric on sale at the web link listed below. I was ecstatic because the store where I bought it only had a few fat quarters. I ordered two yards online because I can definitely use this fabric with other projects as well. Now I can't wait for summer vacation to put the flower quilt together! (Being a teacher, May and early June are insanely busy. All quilting goes on "hold"!!!) Hi Everyone,, I sat down to work on my blocks last night - hoping to get a great start on all 12 blocks...I had found the pattern I was going to do - cut all of my pieces for all 12 blocks....that's a lot of pieces...only to find out that once I had pieced the first block, there seems to be a problem in the pattern because the pieces don't line up.....so it's back to square one - I think I've found another - pattern....but not sure that I can recut any of the pieces that I've already cut...we'll see..but this time, I'll cut one and put it together to make sure that it looks right first....Guess we learn by trial and error.... I would also be very happy to send you the block I made, and the strip too. We were in the same group and I really don't want you to be without blocks. If anyone can please email me Liz's address that would be great!

I didn't participate in the original swap, but it looks like folks sent one 2-1/2" x WOF (42-44") strip along with the Lousiana Block. Does this sound right? Liz, let us know how to contact you to send blocks if you still haven't received yours. --Amy

You all brought tears to my eyes. Have been kinda in the dumps lately and this just cheered me right up. Thanks you all soooooooooo much.

I'm in the USA and on April 20th this year i mailed a pkg to S.Africa,filled out the custom papers ,and everything.To this day the gal i sent it to,still hasn't received it.Both she and i have checked at our PO's and nothing.They don't offer tracking etc to S.Africa,but it did go priority air mail.It's a cross stitch kit,so i told her maybe someone confiscated it and is stitching it for her.NOT!! LOL,LOL

Kathi: Awful, isn't it! I sent a finished quilt (big enough to cover just the top of a queen-sized bed, minus where the pillows go) to Japan about a month ago and it also seems to have disappeared off the face of the earth. Too late, one of my students told me that lately a lot of packages people have sent her (in the States) from Japan never got here. I am still hoping that the quilt will turn out to have been delayed by a Japanese Customs Inspection, but I'm not holding my breath, either!
