Steel Entry Door

On another website, I am looking for a 22-gauge steel entry door for my three-season room. I want it to have the full (tempered glass) window with colonial style grilles (five rows of three across). I see that Benchmark makes 22-gauge steel doors, but they don't carry any in this common style. Please help!! I am trying to finalize this project.

Go for the BEST door on the market in 20 gauge.

The style/model you are seeking is:

460CLR-IGT Entry Door with Internal Grilles

Or

460DLA-EG Entry Door with External Grilles

Thank you, Michael. I meant to say that I saw on another website that 22-gauge steel (or lower) is recommended for entry doors. Can you recommend a manufacturer who may carry this style?
I have two steel doors in this style that are about 10 years old...one says Therma-Tru (AN81 z97.1-1984 99CC 1248 1/8u 16CPR 1201 H) and the other one that looks just like it reads "Guardian Dewitt, IA ANSI Z97.1-1984 SGCC 2020 1/8U CAN/CGSD-12.1-04"
I don't know what these codes mean. I can't find anything on the net about Guardian doors, and I can't determine the gauge on the Therma-Tru steel entry door that appears similar to the one I have (ProEdge and Profiles--Grilles?, SA108 ). The Therma-Tru website just indicates that the steel is minimally 24-gauge.

I have the tools that can cut through a steel door. I know how to cut through it. What I don't know, is how to repair the cut end of the door once I have cut it. I don't want to buy a steel door to experiment on, only to cut through it and find out that it's impossible to repair. Can the part of the door that you cut off (ie. top or bottom) be reworked so that it fits back inside the cut end so that the void is sealed and the strength of the door remains intact (like I have done with a luan door)? I have never cut off the end of a steel door and I,m not sure how the door is made. Is it a foam core wrapped in metal? Does it have wood bracing at the sides and ends? Is it welded, glued, nailed, or riveted? Does anyone know?

You have a solid steel door? I don't think so, unless you live in a Bank. You cannot just stick a double hung window in a door. If you are having issues with the glass, I would suggest carefully measuring it and then contacting a door manufacturer and asking if they can supply you with a replacement. It would be really helpful if you knew which company made the door. Or you could just replace the door. Might be cheaper to do that.

They both should be about the same at the end of the day. The fiberglass is nice from the standpoint that it does not dent if you bump into it whereas a steel panel door has that potential. You are probably going to get a bit better finish in a factory finished option, but there is no reason that you can't get a good finish on a primed door with a good painter (this is critical here). The residential paints out there are so good now that they hold up really well if properly applied over a prepped substrate. We wash out door occasionally (not in direct sunlight) and treat it with a kind of quick detailer spray to help protect the paint.
