I'm sorry for being the queen of bad/sad news and drama. If some of you recall, a couple weeks ago I posted about not hearing from my son Brian's widow, for quite some time. We tried to phone, (no answer) email, (again no answer) and Radio Dok tried to call her mother and the phone had been disconnected. Some kind person on this forum told me how I can get pictures of Brian's grave stone, and now I have pictures of where he is at rest in CA. a little over a week ago, I wrote Pam a heartfelt note and mailed it to her and we had decided that if she wanted to be left alone after that note, we would sadly, honor that. Well, she called me yesterday. She has been in such a depression, and the year anniversary of Brian's passing really threw her, but when she got the note, she said she realized what she was putting us through.We had a wonderful, tearful conversation and I hope I convinced her to get some help with the depression. It didn't help that her mother & stepfather moved from CA to Oregon, so she felt so alone. Isn't it wonderful that when things are looking so dark and dismal, a little ray of sunshine works it's way through. Dottie

How sad!!! Hope you can help each other.

It is so easy to get depressed and so hard to get out of it without the help of caring loving friends and family.

Lombardy Poplar has a reputation for being a problem tree. One site simply says too many diseases to list. Fast growth is usually poor quality growth. Very nice Andy! I never see you write much about your roebi's but they are one of my favorites. I will post some pics of my palms in a few days. I am jelous of yours as I do prefer the single ones. The one I have is a 4 clump but is still nice. I have found lately that I am getting more into the bottles and spindles. I collected some x-mas and queen palm seeds in Florida (in Feb)and most of them are sprouted and some even potted seedlings. I am DYING to sprout some fiji fans but man are they tough. I was told to be patient but alas that is not one of my virtues. I wouldnt even attempt to germinate a roebi as they are a) too common and b) too slow growing. What palms are your favorites now?

A well cut diamond is a good stone forever until is gets damaged usually by chipping. Your round cut, brillaint stone is probably a standard cut often referred to as a SRB cut or Standard Round Brilliant. The SRB has 16 sides (girdle facets), Pavillion (bottom part) facets: 16 meeting the gridle plus 8 more mains; and Crown facets: 32 facets plus the table, for a total of 57 facets not coumting the girdle facets. Since its development, this cut have proven to be excellent and is the standard by which other cuts are measured. A 1 caret SRB diamond is an excellent (and expensive) engagement stone. It looks very good mounted on either gold color or white platnium. Diamonds are graded by the 4 Cs: Cut, Clarity, Color, and Caret. Water clear, transparent, with minimum to no flaws are the most desireable with exception of certain colors. Some of world's most expensive diamonds are blue and pale yellow. I suspect that your stones with a brown cast would be downgraded. However, let your jeweler be your guide. One can not grade a stone without seeing it and inspecting it under magnification. The person who grades your stones ahould have trained at, and hold a certificate from the GIA (Gemeological Instutite of America).

They let DDIL come home last night.She was to do another 24 hour urine collection then go back Monday morning.Her doctor called this morning and told her to pack a bag and come back in the morning at 9 to discuss her labs.So at this moment we don't know what is going on.She is 33,almost 34 weeks along and even though they say the babies would be fine if they are born now,we would like for them to stay in there a little longer!LOL Hopefully he is going to put her to bed and prolong delivery for a while longer.She isn't too excited about the being in bed thing but if that's what it takes it's OK.Keep her and the babies in your prayers please.We appreciate it.

Isn't it wonderful that those DDIL's have someone like you to send them a ray of sunshine ..

I had a good Mother in law. I wish she could have lived longer to see all of her grandchildren and watch them grow.
Father in law too...They would have been proud of their son as a grown man.

I'm so sorry you're being visited by all this grief and pain from every side.

Never, ever, think of your self as a "Drama Queen." You're not.

I feel so helpless in these situations. There's not a thing I can do to "make it better," and there's nothing I'd love to do more than to help take some of your hurt away.

I am so thankful I got to meet you and Dir_ty Fingernails last summer. That trip was such a blessing for me. I still have photos I've not yet mailed to you and Judy. Please email me your address and I will get them sent, if you like.

I'm so glad you heard from DDIL. I am sure it was load off for both of you. Hopefully she will reach out to you more and I pray she seeks help for depression. My heart aches for her.

I'm glad you heard from her, too and now your heart and mind can rest a little bit easier. It's the not knowing that is always so hard, Dotmom.

I hope she's going to be OK. It's been 6 years since my brother's GF died and I wonder if he'll ever be truly happy again. It's so sad.
