Hola, mi amigas. Como esta? Estoy muy, muy bien. Our vacation was fabulous. After we scrambled to get everything done here as much as possible, we REEEAAAALLLY needed it. Our hotel, reminiscent of a Mayan temple, was absolutely gorgeous. We had a Jr. Suite which had an L-shaped patio surround overlooking the lagoon. I should have upgraded to one w/a Jacuzzi b/c its a 2-person type on the balcony. Next time, for sure. We thot about parasailing, visiting Mayan ruins, swimming with the Dolphins, etc. Aside from a little shopping, instead we lazed by the pool, on a floatie in the pool, sat under a cabana w/Cabanas, Pina Coladas, Beachcombers, and any other tropical drink we could try, and had lunch brot to us. Heaven! Our server was a really neat gal. She practiced her English on us, and I practiced what little Spanish I know, with her. This is an upscale hotel and thus, there werent but a handful of kids (little) there. So it was quiet and peaceful. There was a convention of Italian people there during our visit. You could tell them by their incredible shoes, purses and clothing. And oh my, the Speedos! Twas interesting. We cant wait to go back. I didnt enhance any of the photos. On Mothers Day, my DGN noticed my DS and DSILs painted toenails. So she immediately sat down, took off her socks and shoes and tried to color hers with a marker (that only works on special paper). So when I was commandeered for sitting duties later that week, and it was too cold to plant annuals, we painted fingers and toes. She was sooo good. We took 2 Dora books and read them while the jet-dry polish dried. Im amazed how much these little ones know. My DS bot her a couple of brimmed caps to shade her face. When my DS put it on, Jessica said, "No Gammy, it goes this way" and immediately put the hat on backward! Then of course, she had to add the glasses for effect. Heres the cool kid: Chelone, when I read about your co-worker needing a day-off just before the mem day crunch, I had to shake my head, too. Seems many younger workers have different ideas about things. At DHs co., its quite common for the younger folks to call in and tell their boss that they wont be in b/c: "they went to a concert last nite and are too tired;" or they partied hardy and are just too tired. When Grieco was alive he and Apache would fight over the cat womit. They wouldn't event let the poor cat get it out of his/her mouth. As soon as one of the cats started making the pre-womit sound they would dash over to him/her and put their mouths next to them. At times it seemed like a dinosaur fight to see who would win the grand prize. Ever since Grieco died Apache looks at me like "yeah, right you expect me to eat what? That game isn't fun anymore." On the other hand. In my old house my shower was in my unfinished basement. One day I stepped out of the shower onto something slimy that popped. I knew it couldn't have been womit because womit doesn't pop. Once I put on my glasses and looked down I discovered I had stepped on a huge slug. The poor thing. I popped him. A slug. A slimy slippery slug. I had to get back into the shower because I had slug guts and slime all over the bottom of my foot. Of course there was nobody to clean up the darn squished slug, and my womit once I realized the reality of what I had just done. All right, that's enough I'm going to womit if I keep talking about it. Jenny

hahahahaha - You are so right - I didn't even think about it that way! You guys crack me up! And I thought *I* was the one being sneaky! lol He has me doing all the weeding and mowing the back, too! Now we're *discussing* a vegetable garden. He wants to do it one way, I another. I told him that I was going to do it my way and he could just stay out of it! He's just won again, hasn't he? hmmmm....... beginning to catch on now...

I love it when the little things work out and give us joy LOL I can not stand but for a very few minutes and it makes it very hard to do so many of the things we take for granted. I got a little rolling chair for my kitchen, it does go up and down, I am now able to do most everything while seated and I just wheel it around all over the kitchen, it works great on the tile. I am in a wheel chair in the rest of the house but find the little rolling chair so much easier in the kitchen and takes up less room. The first day I got it I had it up too high and did end up on my backside on the floor! Now I know not to try to lean over too far! I have used the really big safety pins on my pillows to attach them to the bed sheet back when I had no headboard to hold them in place. That same rubbery shelf liner is what is used for putting under rugs to keep them from crawling but a large one is expensive, I have found that stuff in place mat size for very cheap, if you buy 4 and attach them to the 4 corners of a large rug it works well if it is a really big rug you may want to use 6, it can be attached with self stick velcro, cost a lot less than the big rug pad. When I have to get up during the night to go to the bathroom I hate turning on a bright light so I found these little bitty led clip on lights at walgreens, they are supposed to be for reading etc, I clip on onto the front of my wheeled walker click it on and have a headlight which does not wake up anyone and provides plenty of light to see my path is clear. I picked up several of those for a few bucks and have found many uses for them. I keep one on my beside table in case the power goes out, takes up much less room than a flashlight but works well enough to give me light to go light candles or oil lamps.
