I'm so excited...!!!

DS and his beautiful family, wife and 2 darling girls (2 and 4) have been living with us for 4 months while they get their house bought. They will close on the new property next week and I will get my house back!! Don't get me wrong, I have honestly loved having the little girls around and getting to know my DIL on a whole new level has been a true blessing. But I'm looking forward to no clutter and being able to be alone when I want to be alone!

Awww that is good news. I hear you loud and clear, there's a wonderful feeling helping out but getting your own space again is blissful!

Yeah, my neigbhors asked me how I was able to achieve that many plants. They saw me working on the garden around early March. They were curious about the garden beds I was making. They saw the milk jugs. I explained to them what it was and also gave them the Wintersown site. I actually watched their reactions when they saw it. They didn't pay much attention to it kinda like "oh, ok". However, when plants started to come out/bloom, they went back to me and asked, "was that from the tiny greenhouse". :) I'm going to make more beds maybe by fall once my knee gets better. :D Thanks mnwsgal! :)

That sounds fantastic! I only have three little Heucheras and guard them like they are made of gold! In the Spring and Fall they do well, though, so hoping to see them bound in this cool weather we sudden;t are getting. Make sure you take pictures of your "river's" progress, with before , during and after pics so we can see the transformation. Your friend from far West over the rivers and across the prairie, ~Annie P.S. - you outta see my T. plant! It has doubled in size this week! Love the sweet little cherub-like leaves. I'll send you some pics.

Lily, I purchased Evelyn from the US Austin nursery in Texas. I don't ordinarily buy grafted roses but I wanted a large bush and thought their roses would take off quickly. It was bought as a bare-root in January, I believe, and has grown nicely and both plants of Evelyn have buds. Here is the bloom again, in its third day as an open flower. The cool, moist weather is no doubt helping the bloom to stay nice-looking for so long, but many other roses are doing less well, so I think it's just a rose for our type of climate, and it should do very well in your new location in Temecula. Diane, I'm so looking forward to your spring blooms. Please tell them to hurry up! I'm thrilled that I now have an Evelyn too. oursteelers, thank you so much, you are so kind.

Oh yeah, it's good when they are with us and it's good when they are gone. Maybe they feel the same, but I know you have enjoyed having them and many memories were made. The little girls got to know you better too. Hope they are not moving too far.

Four months is a long time when you're used to the peace and tranquility of your own home. It was very generous of you to share that with the kids. The longest we've had guests was 6 weeks and I was ready to tear my hair out! And I LOVE those people, too. I don't know what your arrangements were but if I had to do it again, somebody else would be buying/cooking meals every other day. I nominate you as Saint Ranch Girl :-)

P.S. The house will seem really quiet for a few days.

I understand exactly what you are saying. I love having all my kids come but I am happy to see them go home too.

Boy do I understand! Daughter and 13 yr old Granddaughter live with me. Schools out for summer, and I have to count to 10 all day long with Granddaughter. Love her, but boy do I need relief sometimes.

Tee hee!! You're all so funny. Amazingly we've all gotten along good. No fights or anything :). I'm sure there have been times when they had to bite their tongues, but for the most part it's been great. DIL and I both said it will be too bad we're going to have to start cooking everynight! We've been switching off and has worked well.
