Was 92ð here in up north Michigan! Whew! Had to put the A/C on. Big storm went thru, now around 70ð, but very humid. Wish I could put A/C down that low, DH would have a fit!

My DH and I were in Hawaii for 6 days. While we were gone, first it rained one inch where we live. Then the heat wave came in (90 degrees +). I had a neighbor kid doing some pot watering, and the irrigation system was on, and between that and the fortuitous one inch of rain a couple of days before, the heat wave did not kill anything. However, the rain ruined many of the roses (many of which were in full bloom), and then the heat wave crisped what flowers were left. The lucky thing was, we have so many bushes which bloom at so many different times, I still had some good looking bushes going. Here is a pic of Graham Thomas. Today it is cool and foggy and I am going out to wage war on the grass weeds, which took the opportunity to go to seed in our abscence. Jackie

No tanning been done here, vegetables and flowers are struggling. I'm in the PNW - Canadian side and it is wetter and cooler than normal. Flooding is becoming a concern but forest fires are not. I think our forest-fire fighters are in Colorado right now and before that they were in northern Ontario.

Moni, I am sorry for you that it is so hot there. Our July here was just the pits and broke a record for a July average. I hate the heat. Now it is just perfect here. I sat outdoors yesterday evening and this morning I ate breakfast on my back deck. I know it will heat up again so I am making the most of it.

I'm in Wisconsin and while it been soupy hot here, we've had lots of rain. We've had so much rain that I now have waterfront property, lol. Seriously though, there is nothing worse than a drought and hot, hot weather. I hope you get lots of moisture soon. Our lakes are finally back up to where they're supposed to be. We have had dryer than normal years lately and the lakes and rivers were down. While I'm a bit sick of all the rain we've had, I'm glad that we got it this year. BTW - the humidty has dropped and it's down to 67 while I type this. Very nice if I do say so myself.

Cold,cold,cold here.
Wet,wet, wet and very wet too! ;)
Winds 50 mph yesterday, Mother Nature is not playing nice lately.

Today there is just a slight breeze, we can walk straight up, the sun is out and it's 68 at 11:30 am. Still a little chilly IMO but SO much better then the past couple weeks!

Glenda, have you heard any news re your wait list ? I suppose I really need to get busy, too and decide which side trips we want to do. DH can't do much, but I want to go the the dog breeders I think. Didn't do that before. He'll definitely do White Pass again but I'll probably pass. I'd like to go to wherever the salmon dinners are...forget the details...good luck on your wait list. Hope you both get what you originally wanted...10 days, wow. I have 60.
