And it's not getting better this week.

Will hit the pool, for water aerobics at 9:30, and plan to stay cool rest of the day.

I wish, I couldn't beat you, but it is 10:07 here now, and it is 92 degrees.

Way to hot. I hope, my AC keeps going.

Turned off my central and have bedroom unit going down to 61. Good sleeping.

Jeff, I miss your beautiful flowers and photos!!!! I keep checking back at the Rose Gallery for your latest, but can't find you alas! I want to stalk again, hee-hee! maryl, I had to laugh, because I too am a midnight owl person, yet still! dragged myself out of bed at 6:00 a.m. in the morning with only 3 hours of sleep, but by 7:45 a.m. I had to stop working in the garden because it was getting to be way too muggy even then! So I crawled back to bed to take a brief snooze...By the time I woke up again, I felt as though I had been hit by a train. I was so groggy and tired. And I still tortured myself with 5 minutes-at-a-time deadheading and checking out my flowers leaves and herbs, then racing back to the shelter of my house...Poor Eluane, she's got long fur, but because she is a busy-body sheepherding Border Collie, she always wants to check up on what I'm doing...she's even more of a masochist than her Mama! and will follow me faithfully out to the garden Every Single Time. And for the rest of our week it will be: 98, 97, 96,97,95 and hurray, a breakthrough turning point of ...91 on Sunday...But I'm sure 91 is nothing compared to the 100s of late July that I'm expecting.

Is the leak in a horizontal line? If so, he probably he cannot get it to seal because of residual water. Standard advice is to put a piece of soft white bread in the line. The idea is that the bread keeps water away from the joint, allowing a good seal. Afterwards, the bread can dissolve to not cause any problems from being in the line. I have what I think is a better (but closely related) approach. I spoon a bunch of flour into the line. I then shove a pile of it an inch or so up the line with a dowel close to the same diameter of the pipe. The flour has the same effect as the bread, but it does not have to "dissolve," as it is already a fine powder.

Hot, yes! It's 10 pm, and still 80 degrees. Humid, even more. Central air on plus my box fan blowing across my side of the bed. DH will have the quilt on, and will hate the fan, but he's learned to deal with it, LOL.

No tanning been done here, vegetables and flowers are struggling. I'm in the PNW - Canadian side and it is wetter and cooler than normal. Flooding is becoming a concern but forest fires are not. I think our forest-fire fighters are in Colorado right now and before that they were in northern Ontario.

It was 108ÃÂ° here yesterday. Normally we'd be able to cool off in the lake...but due to the terrible drought, the lake is nearing 5 feet low. Sad what's happening throughout Texas with such high temps and no rain.

Texas and Oklahoma are both in very bad shape. Has it affected the water used for household use? We had a summer like that in 2006 and had just sold our house when the well went dry. Had to replace the pump and the well. Ick! Sure hope both states get lots of rain soon.

It's a normal summer day here--mid 90's during the day and mid-70's a night. We've been getting rain the last few days and a tropical storm is heading our way come Saturday. Hope we get a lot of rain from it. We need it.

Sure wish we could send you some of our water from ND. Still houses with water, though the river has gone down. It is 73 here with a nice breeze blowing . Will keep all of you in my thoughts for cooler weather.

The interesting fact is, Minnesota and North Dakota have LOTS of water, Oklahoma and Texas have a drought.

My sis in Germany turned her heater on, and is wearing a sweat shirt jacket, while here in Oklahoma it is sooo hot, you can't touch metal outside, it burns you.

It was in the mid 90's today. I played golf and it was fairly pleasant. There was a nice breeze most of the day. Tomorrow, however, it's suppose to be in the upper 90's with a heat index bringing it to 105 - 110. Our golf group decided to cancel for the day.

It's 104 in Tulsa at 10:30 pm. Not sure how hot it got today. Dh saw 112 and it was supposed to get hotter than that. Lots of fires today. We could see a huge one from the neighborhood. Several people lost their houses.

I'm in Wisconsin and while it been soupy hot here, we've had lots of rain. We've had so much rain that I now have waterfront property, lol. Seriously though, there is nothing worse than a drought and hot, hot weather. I hope you get lots of moisture soon. Our lakes are finally back up to where they're supposed to be. We have had dryer than normal years lately and the lakes and rivers were down. While I'm a bit sick of all the rain we've had, I'm glad that we got it this year.

BTW - the humidty has dropped and it's down to 67 while I type this. Very nice if I do say so myself.
