Hi live wire oak, the back splash is gray and white but my lighting in the kitchen makes everythng look more warm or yellow tone for some reason (fluorescent). I really don't like an orangeish tone at all, the laminate counter has no orange in it but beige, black and gray. here's another photo of the back splash and counter.

they make a J channel that you can get from the Box stores that can go on the end of the 3/8" side they usually have different colors to match the tile colors just cut it to the size you need and install to exposed side of tile, no need for bull nose

But then agin, I think I know all along it's a little too much for my kitchen. Caryscott & petra: Thanks for the picture petra, it says a thousand words. Is spectralight glass tiles? Prices are pretty reasonable. What about that milk green color? will it work? maybe with some garnet pieces sparingly mixed in. I will take some pictures and post two HD Behr's paint card to aid in the discussion of color. Thanks again ALL! for what it's worth, my current kitchen (which I am ripping out shortly) has the counter/backsplash material running up the wall on the end like you are thinking. Mine doesn't run down to the floor because the cabinets are right up to the edge of the door, but I hate it. It could be because I hate the counter/backsplash, but something about the fact that it continues onto that side wall really bothers me. I love the look of the backsplash continuing up above cabinets or range hoods, but only if it's on the same wall.
