That was such a sweet story. I'm happy for them.

Marie looks better, and much healthier, now that she did then. I thought it was wonderful she wore her original wedding dress.

Michael, what a lovely piece. My MP is such a beautiful bush until late summer. Then she gets BS, drops her leaves, refoliates, and blooms again. This all became apparent when I stopped spraying about 3 years ago. I know I should sp her, but I just cannot. She only looks ugly two to three weeks out of the summer. And her scent is heavenly. I never thought of myself as a cow, but if I WERE a cow, I guess I'd rather give my milk away for free than to SELL it, because wouldn't that make me a ... :-) About one month after our first date, I knew I would marry this man. I believe strongly in marriage, especially if you want to have children. But we were 19 at the time. In my family, as in all families, there were a few things that one just did and didn't do. It was not a question of my parents saying "Do this and don't do that." It was just the way it was. Say "Please" and "Thank you." Clean your plate. Do your homework. Don't interrupt. Don't get married young. So we lived together at 20 but waited until we we were 24 -- out of college, working, homeowners, able to pay for our own (small) wedding -- to get married. It was not like living together was a trial before marriage, it was just as if we were married except we didn't freak our parents or ourselves out by getting maried "too young." I know this may not make a lot of sense, but there it is. When we did have the wedding, my poor mother thought it must be because we were ready to have kids. She spent the next two years holding her breath in anticipation before her first grandchild finally materialized.

We were married May 31, 1980 at the Otterbein United Methodist Church in Washington, Indiana...the town my parents were living in...20 years earlier my brother had gotten married in the smaller chapel and I just thought it was the most beautiful church...it was a long way for my husbands family to come but they all made it and it was close to most of my relatives...We had our reception at the National Guard Armory and had a country western band...not hubster and I's choice of music but I knew both sides of the family would enjoy it...I still remember it like it was yesterday...even our doggie was present at the reception! It was a fun day for our entire families!

I've never known anyone that made it the second time around but maybe this will be the first I hear of. I think Marie looks better today than she did 30 years ago. I'm happy for them. I wish them both happiness.

OK so I'm confused, is this the man that she's been married to for all those years and then divorced or was she married for a short time, divorced then married the other man? Because I thought the man she was married to for 20+ years was a horrible abusive man that she could barely talk about without getting all choked up? Surely she didn't remarried HIM!!!!!!!!!! :(

No, this is her 1st husband, they were young and were only married 3 years.

I like her and hope it works out for her. I think it must be awkward for her kids.

I can't believe she wore the same dress. The size issue is one thing. It is nice that it fit. I thought she looked prettier now than the first time. Who keeps an old dress after they are divorced? I can't believe that thing wasn't gone years ago.

I remember the "perfect marriage" feature on them in Good Housekeeping that came out a week before she divorced the college basketball player. He cheated on her as I recall. Chances are slim that he has developed a taste for fidelity. He sure doesn't look like the same guy in the picture. According to her traditions they are sealed for eternity so I guess it is good to get reacquainted before they both die.

Good for her, and amazing that she could fit into that gown. I would like to see more pictures of it. She has had a heartbreaking last couple of years, I hope she and he have a happy life.

Arcy, cheating is not always an indication of a personality trait.

I think it's sweet. I hope they are happy. She is one of the most attractive women I've ever seen.

She re-married her "first love." How sweet. I saw her on Oprah discussing her son's death and she looked very sad. Congratulations to both of them!
