Boca Raton, Florida. On a Friday the 13th. In a little gazebo on the beach. It poured down rain. After 26 years, still the best thing that ever happened to me.

We were married in a old restored barn. It was beautiful. We got married on Saturday and left for our honeymoon later that evening. We honeymooned at Lake Tahoe.

We were married in my aunt's home.They had a large new home.Just family and close friends.Mother made my dress and the 3 bridesmaids dresses.They were all tea length.Mine had seed pearls and sequins sewn on it.Mother sewed them on while sitting up at night in the hospital with my grandmother(her mother)who had a heart attack.She passed away 2 weeks before our wedding.We got married on a Wed. evening,went home to our house in the country and DH went to work the next day!

The second time = President Harry S. Truman's court room - ours was the last wedding to be performed in that room - they closed it to visitors who could actually go into the room - it's in the Independence, Missouri court house, and is a historic site.

We were married in my husband's church in Ohio. We had an early Friday morning ceremony which is rather unusual but we planned it that way so friends could get to work and we could take off for Florida.

It was not a first marriage for me, but I didn't want a civil service, either. We were married June 14, 1992, in St. Paul's Chapel of the Wesley United Methodist Church in Dover, DE.

We didn't have a "wedding," as such; we simply met the minister there between Sunday services and "got hitched" with six friends in attendance. We treated them all to dinner at a nice restaurant afterwards. That filled in for as a "reception." I do wish I would have gotten a small decorative cake to share.

I wore a skirted suit; he wore a jacket and tie. We had a small basket of white and burgundy/purple flowers interwoven with English Ivy on the alter and our matching wedding bands. That was it for pomp and circumstance!

After the wedding, I rooted sprigs of the ivy. I've left starts of it everywhere we've lived, and still have pots of it growing in my house.

Our wedding was in our small church, in which we are still active members of. That was 31 years ago on a Saturday afternoon.

We were married at the York county fire station in Williamsburg, VA. 27 years ago today! At the time, my husband was a paid firefighter/EMT for York Co. and I was a volunteer EMT at the same station.

We eloped and were married in the church that our witnesses attended. Just the 4 of us.

I am still sorry we weren't married in the light and bright Colonial-style Community church that I attended as a child. However, I wanted to be a good DIL.

We were married in my DH's church 'below the rail'. The afternoon ceremony was so short that we were married and halfway up the aisle before the organist woke up and started playing. DH was only permitted to marry me, a non-Catholic, in church because Rome considered me 'a spinster'. What a hoot! (I was 23.)

1st - Naval Air Station Chapal April 1, 1961. Easter fell on April 2nd that year so the chapal was decorated for Easter. We had a reception after at a local restaurant in their party room. Went back to our apartment afterwards but had a honeymoon trip in June to NJ. Visited Atlantic City, Wildwood and Cape May as well as New York City, and upstate NY.

2nd - Had gotten the licsense a week or so before but had not set a date. He picked me up at the office for lunch one day and on the spur of the moment, decided to stop at the JP and get married. Went back to work and that was that. Oh yes! That was March 12, 1982.

My first marriage was supposed to take place in the tiny chapel (capacity 50) behind the church (capacity 1,000) which was used for baptisms. Including the priest, there were only 16 in attendance. However, the priest who was supposed to perform the ceremony had forgotten about us and had gone to a baseball game, taking the key to the chapel with him. Another priest told us that we would have to be married another evening. I told him that I was going to go on my honeymoon that night and I fully intended to be married first. So that priest performed the ceremony in the vast sanctuary.

Fast forward 22 years and a divorce later. My father was a resident at the convalescent hospital I worked at and past the point of leaving even for short trips. A Justice of the Peace performed the ceremony in the family room of the facility. We had a lot more guests than at my first wedding, LOL. The nurses were out making their med pass and took turns stopping in to check out the goings on. And many of the residents wheeled in and out. My father, ever the jokester, told my husband to be that there was a car in the parking lot with the engine running, in case he had changed his mind.

Instead of the traditional rice being thrown, the dietary department added peas and lentils as well. And instead of balloons decorating our car, the nurses had blown up surgical gloves and tied them all over.

Certainly a wedding to remember.

Married in our home town (we're still here) in the same church that I was baptized and confirmed in. We had our reception at The Victoria Park Restaurant overlooking Niagara Falls. It was beautiful! But I wish I could actually remember more about it. It was a blur! Seems like yesterday sometimes though even after 32 years!

Second marriage--on beach on Big Island, Hawaii. I was 52 and he 65. Beautiful ceremony with Hawaiian singer--at sunset. We love Hawaii so much that we bought a time share and go every other year. Have taken friends and family, too. DH's son also got married there last year. We are going to be married 10 years this Sept.

We got married on a paddle boat going down the Colorado river at sunset. Very small, maybe 20 people. Everyone still to this day says it was the best wedding they have ever been to. 18 years ago in May.

We were married at my sisters house, early

in the living room. Lots and lots of family
and friends were there. A friend of mine from
high school was the pastor that married us.
Our best friends stood up with us as our witnesses.
We then had our reception at the local American
Legion hall. A buffet supper, big cake and dancing.
All very informal. Only sent invitations to
folks that we didn't think would come with out
an offical invite! It was word of mouth invites
for everyone else. Word the next week, was that
it was the best party the town had seen in a long
time!
26 years ago, next week! April 14th!

Married in the Navy Base Chapel in Honolulu HW 57 years ago as DH was in the Navy. My Dad did not attend but Mom did. He said later he regretted not going--no reason, did not want to spend the money to fly over. All whites--all orchids --no honeymoon and lived there 10 months. Had a reception for family and friends when we came back.

St. James Catholic church in Arlington Heights, Il on a beautiful sunny Sunday, October 9, 1988.

We were married in St. Mary's Catholic Church in York, Pa. on April 22, 1955. I will never step inside a Catholic church again. Vique.

The first time I was married in a church in Reno, Nevada, where marrying age was 16. I was only 14, so my mom forged my birth certificate. Sept. of 1969. That marriage lasted 5 years.

In 1983 I married my DH on the large deck overlooking the Sierra Nevada mountains at Ted Lyon's house (mansion). He was heir to Lyon's moving and storage. We invited everyone we knew and hoped to know. It's nice to have a wealthy friend or two.

We were married in a funeral home. Our daughter was 9 months old and we wanted her to have parents that were married, so we were going to get married at the justice-of-the-peace. When my mom told my grandpa that, he asked if we'd like to get married at the funeral home where he worked instead. The funeral home is very pretty inside, and one of the rooms has a nice fireplace and a pretty staircase. So, that's what we did. Turned out, my mom told us afterward, that that was the same room my dad was shown in when he died; my grandpa must've forgotten.

I have pictures of our wedding at my website. I just looked, and you can't see the boxes of tissues that were sitting around all over, in these pictures, but you can tell it was a funeral home.

Married at the court house by a justice of the peace, over 44 years ago.

I was married at St. Pius Catholic church in New Salem ND 35 years ago in January. It was snowing and raining the night before so it was one sheet of ice. Then we went to the basement of the auditorium for our reception and dance. I remember my brother had to leave supper and go home and help milk the cows. He said he did it with his tux on. Had probably 500 people at out wedding.

We were married in a small church in Miami.My sister was my maid of honor and my best friend sang at our wedding.That was 46 years ago.That was probably the smartest thing I ever did!

Were heading to Las Vegas, took a wrong turn and ended up in Burbank (you know, where "Laugh In" was taped), don't even remember the name of the "chapel". Then we went and washed the car and went to Disneyland.
Inlaws wanted us to have a church wedding, we had a small one, total waste of time......

We were married in the Old Meeting House on the common in my home town. The church is on the second floor. It was the first wedding in over 100 years. My family has lived in town now for six generations.

We were married on Friday evening, August 17, 1962, in St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church in Alice, Texas.

We were married May 31, 1980 at the Otterbein United Methodist Church in Washington, Indiana...the town my parents were living in...20 years earlier my brother had gotten married in the smaller chapel and I just thought it was the most beautiful church...it was a long way for my husbands family to come but they all made it and it was close to most of my relatives...We had our reception at the National Guard Armory and had a country western band...not hubster and I's choice of music but I knew both sides of the family would enjoy it...I still remember it like it was yesterday...even our doggie was present at the reception! It was a fun day for our entire families!

Married in my parents home in Daly City Ca, April 6, 1954. Had family and friends in attendance and family minister perform the ceremony. So Young! But it has been a great ride!
