Morning all, A chilly 32 degrees out here this AM. Lots of clouds and I guess it is supposed to snow later. News on another front, Doug is going to have to have surgery on that toe of his. The arthritis is preventing it from bending and flexing properly and as a result he is getting very thick callus and those blisters that dont heal. Hes pretty bummed out but philosophical about it as it could be worse. They did a full range of blood tests and everything there is normal. Norma, I cant believe you have crocus blooming already! I dont have any crocus foliage even showing up yet but do have some tulips and narcissus foliage breaking ground. Are you going to use them in your outside containers this year? ~~ I still have brug cuttings in water and they are still doing OK. Mine did have some yellowing leaves but a month or so ago I started adding a bit of water soluble fertilizer to the water when topping them off and they are no longer getting yellow leaves. I dont know when Im going to pot mine up but want to wait as long as possible. The one cutting I did pot up Ive had to cut down twice. T but orchids are good for dieting! You wind up playing with your orchid collection instead of eating. LOL~~ I got that Charleys Greenhouse catalog also and already ordered from it but not plants. They have some great high intensity fluorescent bulbs that produce twice the light as normal bulbs. I want to try them out. They should be great to get my large fuchsias going again. V, so is that how you got me to buy those plants????? ~~ I could swoon to go to a flower marked where most of the flowers were orchids. How neat! Soooo... go back up and take a look at where I have had my seedlings for the past week or so. If your windows swing out, from the bottom, you may want to consider another spot. I was just outside that window, thursday evening, and looked up just as Laura started cranking it open. My eyes nearly jumped out of my head, as all 8 seedlings did a simultaneous swan-dive. All but one survived the 5' drop. The last one broke off, just above the soil line. I didn't have the heart to throw it away, so I dropped it in a glass of water, where it still remains, looking very healthy! None of the others looked very happy, I can tell you. At the time, I was on the phone with a Plumeria grower/researcher in California, who is a member of the GW Plumeria forum. With only a wave of the hand, I was able to stop Laura from screaming out about what an idiot I am for placing them on the sill... then spent the next 15 minutes repotting all of them, with him never knowing that anything was amiss. The whole time, my heart was in my mouth! Lessons learned! Bob

Grrrr - I went to re-arrange some of the cutting in the BOB after sending stuff out because getting them out was a bit difficult on the side. some of the roots were one big tangled mess. Lift one, 3 were lifting with it. Thought - ok. . .let's figure out what is going on. Desiree was lost its leaves and the Angels Moonlight leaves were turning yellow. Well - found out Charles wasn't playing so nice over there. Wrapped completely around the bubble rod and was choking out the others in the vicinity. THAT'S not very nice. Found one of my little sunrays down there - still hanging in there from under water - My suzie Qs are rockin' fine - a Xena cutting (one) - doing nothing but not dead. . . Most have these have hairballs for root systems right now - and others have larger roots. Guess I'm gonna bump a couple up to soil to free up some space. Hi Guys! I've been out of town. Went to the AAU National Track and Field Junior Olympics in Knoxville. My little qualifier had a wonderful experience and we are so proud of her. We got back yesterday and I'm happy to say we signed our certificate of occupancy last night WOO HOO! Only a few things on our punch list so we're going to start moving in today!!!!!!!! Everything looks great and I'm sooo excited that I'm about to burst. I'll be taking tons of photos and will post them asap. Our builder completely stocked our fridge and pantry with cokes, water, lunch meat, cheeses, candy, chips, cookies, paper plates, plastic forks and most importantly beer. :). That is really going to make the move a lot more enjoyable. I thought that was really nice of her. You guys will be hearing from me and seeing some photos soon. DoInG ThE HaPpY DaNcE!!!!!
