I always have a project going...mostly I sew doll clothes these days with the occasional pj's or t shirts etc. I sell doll clothes on ebay...

I took a break today from a quilt project (always have 1 or more of those going). I decided to work on 2 long sleeved t-shirts that were too big for me. I cruised the web searching for t-shirt reconstruction, cutting, no sew, etc. etc. I looked @ a ton of sites & you tube videos.

So I shortened the sleeves & cut off the bottom, then did a tiny zig-zag with a short stitch while holding the fabric taut & made "waffle"(?) edges. I did some slicing near the neckline & did a braid like thing there. Haven't decided yet how to finish that area off.

Not sure, yet, what I am going to do with the other t-shirt. There are some really cute, funky, creative, bizarre, unique ideas out there on the web. I'm way too old for most of them, tho'. LOL

Yes, I always have something going, too. Right now I'm making dresses and shrugs for my four young gdtrs. Last week I made a skirt for my dtr that turned out great but was miserable to make.

Gotta finish the gardening Tuesday, and tomorrow most of my kids are coming home with their kids until Thursday, so no sewing this week...unless one of the little gdtrs gets an idea to make an apron or a skirt or something.

Always have a sewing project. Mainly for the grands. Two year old granddaughter loves to cook. She normally puts on one of my old shirts as her apron. Her chef hat is one of my fifties hats. We cut out an apron for her on Friday and will finish it in the morning. Haven't figured out how to make a chefs hat for her. She is too funny, always tells me, don't sew without me.

I believe if you are a sewer..you always have more than A project going!

Today was my jammies day...yep, still in them and ready to head to bed! I made 10 bibs in 3 sizes, a small cuddle blanket, made 2 crib sheets, fixed arm chair covers that DD's dog chewed on an end so had to shorten both of them and finally finished with a large flannel blanket for a friend of DD's that is expecting. LOVE my "me" days where I just do what I want, when I want...and today was all about sewing! =)

I was inbetween projects until tonight...brought home a free chair off CL that I plan to upholster. The caining is perfect, just needs paint.

I love to knit and crochet. Don't have the patience for sewing for some unexplainable reason. But I love knitting and crocheting baby and children's things. Making a hat to match a tomten jacket now and a vest.

Also will start a baby afghan for my sister-in-law's mother who likes to make this chevron pattern but can't get it started. Her sister used to start them for her, but can't do it for her any longer.

Not since I was a senior in high school....45 years ago.

Like Sheila Joyce, I most often have a knitting or crochet project (or 9 or 10!) going. But it so happens that I am sewing a couple of things right now.

Last summer I made my grandsons (then 9 and 1.5 years old) a few pair of matching shorts - flames and skulls. I also made a pair with fire engines on them for the 1.5 year old. Well, lately he has insisted that he must wear them every day, even when it is too cold to wear shorts. So DD has to put on his jeans and then the fire engine shorts over them to keep the peace.

So I found three different fabrics with fire engine patterns on them and I am making him more shorts for this summer. I also found material with frogs, John Deere tractors, busses, and Elmo. That should be plenty, right?

And today I cut out several market bags to carry in my car for grocery shopping. I believe it's only a matter of time until we begin to be charged for bags at the store.

I would love pics of what you sew. I am determined to sew SOMETHING this summer.

I seem to want to sew more in the fall and winter - must be because gardening is on my mind this time of year. But, I do want to make a cover/case for an ereader, so I'm thinking about doing that.

I don't have a pattern, though, so I'll try to wing it on my own using a pattern I found on the internet for an ipod. Take some measurements. Cross my fingers. : D

This is the last thing I sewed. My old clothes pin bag was torn and too small, so I reused the hanger part, and made a new bag. I used the old one for the 'pattern', but made it larger. : P

I sew almost every day of the year. I make and sell potato bags and neck coolers so my sergers and I are always in the sewing room. No sewing this week-end - I am at a show in Cayucos - sales are down, but I love visiting with the people. This is a Peddler's Fair, but the locals call it Crap in the Creek. I am one of two crafters - the rest have antiques, yard sale items and resellers. I always do well and have a lot of fun, but we have had wind for both days - gusts up to 40-50 mph

Your clothes pin bag is really nice and very usable Dee Can. I made some of those and gave as gifts some years back. Mine was a little different. For years I used one that looked like a little girls dress. It got all ratty so I quit using it, still have it some where though. Since I am not putting a garden out this year I decided I would try to get more sewing in. Love it! I am about to finish up the 3rd pair of boxers. I make flat fell seams for those.

I made three pair of pajama pants this past week. So easy and fast, love em.

I just started a Kinkade cross stitch project which is gonna take me a hundred years to finish. LOL!

This weekend? I finished fixing a flag for a neighbor--the dog had somehow shredded parts of it.

Sewed together the squares for another checkerboard (Aunt saw me working on the ones I plan to sell at craft shows in fall, and wanted some for her assisted living home, so I'm making some with BIG squares now)
Started working on a Christmas Tree wall hanging made with yo yo's

I do my machine sewing at the country house on the weekends, then take home a stack of handsewing to do in the evenings when I'm watching TV

I made a blanket for my granddaughter for her new toddler bed and cut and sewed a twin sheet to fit her toddler bed. Next project is to dye the sheets. I had never made a blanket before as I normally use patterns when I sew, and I just winged this one. I put a binding on it and was pretty happy with the way it came out.

I havn't sewn any clothes for awhile now,ya know the gardens keep calling!!LOL.I did cut off and hem a dress this morning for DIL who will be coming over later today to barbq,told her to bring the machine i gave her so i can show her how to thread it so she can do her own mending/sewing.

Last thing i sewed was a couple months ago when i made shorts,(the cars movie)lighting mcqueen for both GGS'S.I plan to make some summer things for all 3 of the GGK'S,2 boys and a girl ranging in age from almost 3 to 5.It gets very hot where they live,can we say 113 degrees on several days during the summer.Sure glad i don't live there!!

I haven't done any sewing for a long time. I would like to make a new quilt for our bed, but haven't decided on the kind or color.

I am trying to use up some of this leftover yarn that I have. Since it is summer, I don't want to work on anything big. I looked up some knitting projects in the line of doll clothes. I have 2 sweaters done in the size for the American Girl Dolls. They turned out cute, so now I'm making a white cardigan. Then I might make hats to match them. They really are fun!
