We are having Beer Butt Chicken, Baked Beans and Roasted Asparagus.and ice cream for dessert..it is mine & Tony's 24th Anniversary.

Happy Anniversary!!

Hooray for leftovers......meatloaf, potato and lima beans.

It's been beautiful again here in my part of Ohio. Mid 70s, sunny, and low humidity. My kind of weather.

Happy Anniversary Laura! We just came home from a fantastic barbecue-too much great food to mention. Well, ok:rib eye steak, pork and spare ribs from the smoker and scallops and lots of extras.

patti is off visiting and will be back Tuesday for her usual thread. caroline, don't you love coutry lo boils? I do that every year for my birthday along with grandson's. I do the newspaper for the tablecloth and roll everything up in it that is disposable. How easy can that get. I made 7 up biscuits the other Sunday, except it was with club soda.

Hi Kittie. Grilled veggie paninis. It was our first time having eggplant and we love it grilled. Also a wile and brown rice salad with veggies, sliced water chestnuts, and other stuff. I think we just discovered our new summer sandwich. LOL

Had a very special cookout at the home of our friends who used to live in Beaufort, SC (we were friends of mine there, too) and some mutual friends who still live there and are visiting for a few days. They brought several pounds of fresh shrimp and live blue crabs. Oh my. A big pot of Frogmore Stew (aka Lowcountry shrimp boil) was cooked up (shrimp, fresh sweet corn pieces, chunks of smoked sausage, Old Bay) and another of the crabs. I still have my outdoor propane stand and huge stainless pot from my lowcountry days and it was well employeed. We also had a big crunchy salad, angel biscuits and rolls, slaw, sliced tomatoes, peach kuchen, ice cream, ginger cookies, watermelon. Everybody will be here for supper. I'll be cooking a few things today and the chicken is marinating.

Angelaid -- that's one of my favorite meals! (Unless, of course, it comes in a frozen tray! I can't tell you how many times I ended up with a Swanson's turkey TV dinner when I was growing up and my parents had an evening meeting of their social groups!) Tonite, I stir-fried some cut-up chicken breasts, seasoned with lemon pepper and ginger (with a little cornstarch to give them a bit of a coating). I put the chicken over bagged salad spinach and diced orange bell peppers and had some poppy seed dressing on top. I'd been to Sears and Macy's earlier to check out their mattresses and I'm surprised I actually came up with a dinner idea I liked -- actually, I've made it plenty of times, but not recently.

Im having (if it is edible) a roast I did in the crock pot and a sweet potato. This was a "cheap" cut of beef so Im not sure how it will taste. Laura and Tony hope you have a wonderful anniversary.

Happy Anniversary!
My wonderful neighbors invited us over for a party on the patio. BBq ribs and smoked sausages, with veggie kabobs, melon and fruit salad, I made a salad with fresh tomatoes and Vidalia onions. And we had mini lemon cakes for dessert. We had a great time.

Happy Anniversary to you and Tony!

I made a recipe that called for couscous, but I used quinoa, which we love. Quinoa with dried cranberries, toasted almonds, lemon juice. I chopped some kale and added it as well. Served with grilled sausages.
