Your opinion of daybeds with trundles
Comments (19)Our Dresher daybed is nearly 30 years old and it's in our tiny guestroom. The trundle frame is metal, rolls out, pops up and is the same height as 2 twin beds. We've used it for kids, sleepovers, teens and even a married couple who pushed them together and used a king top sheet and comforter. When ny nephew stayed with us he was transitioning from a crib to a regular bed and we pulled the trundle out but left it folded on the ground so if he fell out of bed he'd have a nice soft landing. I wouldn't want to use one regularly only because it's a little harder to make the bed....See MoreSpare bedroom to Girl Nursery
Comments (26)Eddy are you saying the bed is going now and it will be a nursery? SW Intimate white is a beautiful blush color. First and foremost before painting any type of pink I would make sure you like it near your wood trim. Pink with that tone of wood is not ideal. Have you considered painting your trim white? Also if you keep the bed I wouldnt paint it gold. The lines of the bed are not classic and TBH dated so I wouldnt invest time or money into it. If you still want a bed in the room I would consider a day bed with a trundle. That will be your least costly and most versatile option. Then once your daughter is old enough it could become her big girl bed. Here are some that would be beautiful in your space based off your inspiration photo These could work for guests, parents that want to sleep in room with baby on occasion as well and transition into her bed once she is ready....See MoreDaybed frame for an adjustable bed
Comments (12)you can tuck most kinds of adjustable bases into regular bed frames. then all you need to do is purchase a daybed frame that's big enough on the inside to accommodate the insert, and remove the mattress slats. one thing I think may be an issue is if the daybed frame is big enough on the inside so that the side of the mattress doesn't get stuck when raising and lowering. so before ordering the adjustable base, call and ask if it would work in a daybed -- they might require a certain amount of clearance. they might even have brands of daybeds to recommend. many adjustable bases have legs, which you can see under the bed. but I found this one that doesn't. more expensive but would look better. Just a guess, but the open design on this daybed one might work a little better, since it has a header but no footer. Landis twin daybed from wayfair: as you can see, it's designed so the mattress sits lower than the padded frame, so it should conceal the edges of the adjustable base. you would want to make sure the base doesn't fit too tight inside a frame like this. (you might need to contact them and get inside measurements.)...See MoreWhat do you use a spare bedroom for?
Comments (47)One bedroom is used as a guest room. I do admit to having gift wrap and ribbons in the bottom two drawers of the armoire - but then I'm not offering the room to any long term guests anytime soon. I have a couple of quilts on the closet shelf in that guest room, destined for my niece on the other side of the county and she's been making sounds like she may move her family back to this coast. We'll see. In any case, I have a quilt of my own - my mother made them - and really can't use the others. A second bedroom really hasn't had attention. I have a recliner and ottoman in it, a coffee tree that won't grow in any other light, table with two sewing machines. I've been meaning to buy at least a twin bed for that room. It needs new lighting too. Nothing has pressed me into action yet. Third bedroom we've claimed. It's at the far end of the house and has a bath, sitting room adjoining. The sitting room has two walls of closets and entrance to the master bedroom deck. No more splitting a guest room as part office - this house has an office. His and her desks. I made the mistake of putting a television in here and its the closest room to coming in from the garage. I kept finding DH and a friend or two inside checking scores, watching sports and broke down and bought him a comfortable mans chair. That may have been a mistake, he's kind of planted himself and I find myself at my desk listening to whatever game is being aired or stock market channels all. evening. every. evening. :) I've turned my desk so that I can enjoy the window view so at least have my back to all of it....See Moredilly_dally
