I will be praying for them. Trauma centers save lives. If you are taken to a smaller hospital and need a higher level of care, you get transferred to a trauma center.

Sending healing thoughts

Some specialists can be real jerks when they are called in on weekends or holidays. That was my experience when I worked in a trauma center in CA. Sometimes the head nurse just got a phone book and called every plastic surgeon in town begging someone to come in and treat a trauma patient.

Sending prayers out to the family. I too am surprised with the lack of specialist. Here they have the Dr's either on call, or in the hospital especially on weekends. We have had a appointment called to the hospital. He is one of the top opthamologist.

I am so sorry you, your son and his fiancee. I'm also sorry you had a bad experience at the trauma center, but be very glad there was one nearby. It is so important to get treatment within the golden hour after a head injury. Having to be helicoptered to a trauma center uses up precious time.

Hope the fiancee heals well and that you have a bouncing new grandchild!

What happened in the wreck? Are there others involved? Hope everything works out for them all.

She was just now taken into surgery, sorry all, not impressed with a trauma hospital. Almost 48 hours after accident until surgery. And she had to ask today to please get the glass and blood out of her ear canal. They still haven't done an ultrasound, even though the baby's heart rate is 40 beats a minute slow.

I'll be praying for you, too, Teri. I sure hope everyone comes out of it alright. So scary to get that phone call.

What a terrible accident! Her neck was broken? All this glass? She's lucky to be *alive*! So glad they are able to save her sight. Was she wearing a seatbelt? (Abdominal bruising?)
