Could I Get Some Prayers & Good Thoughts..

for my sister, please. Sunday night she went to ER and has been in ICU since. She has pneumonia, and sepsis from it. They're hitting it with big gun antibiotics. Her BP was something like 49/30, from the sepsis, but has come up now.

I'd appreciat them.

Thank you everyone - had a family Christmas party last night at my nieces house and my 7 year old granddaughter was there. I held her so close and was so thankful to God that I could. She was so full of life and so excited about new dance moves she was learning and a new song she is learning. I just 'drank' it all in. So many many parents and grandparents will never see their 6 or 7 years old ever do that. There are times when I say 'why God??' but in the end I know he has his plan and one day it will all be made clear. Again my prayers are directed to Connecticut - may they feel God's comfort during this time of sorrow ..... Lynne

Just got back from the hospital. She was admitted. They started pushing her IV. She was severely dehydrated was anemic to the point they said she may have to have a transfusion. The Dr. on call ordered lots of tests including a cat scan. She does have a skull fracture and he is going to talk to us about this tomorrow. It doesn't look to promising as of right now. There's more going on that I don't understand, hopefully the Dr. can clear this up for me tomorrow. Thanks again everyone for everything. Patty

Hi everyone, I posted an update about the Giz-man. I did notice that it seemed to fall to the 2nd or 3rd page pretty quickly.....I guess this place has been busy lately!! He got a shot, some antibiotics to take home, and some kind of oral rinse, which he is not happy about. He goes in next Wed. for a complete dental, all his lab work looked great the vet said, except for elevated white blood cells. She did not rule out that it could still be cancer. So we will hope and pray for the best. I can tell he feels better, and he hasn't pawed at his mouth at all, also when I sneak a peek in, like when he yawns (ha ha ) it isn't red anymore, so maybe, just maybe, we are going to be o.k. You are on my prayer list. DH had surgery for a slipped disc. He could not stand upright or put on his boots. He was in horrible pain. Of course he still had to go in to work (military) and couldn't take any painkiller other than Aleve. He was glad though; he wanted them to fix the cause of the pain, not make him an addict. They tried chiropractic and massage therapy for six months before they'd agree to the surgery. He said the treatments "felt good" but any relief they offered was long gone before he got out of the clinic. It was barbaric what they put him through before fixing the problem. The surgeon showed him a model of the spine, the bulging "disc," and the affected nerve and explained why had such pain. Doc went in, trimmed off the bulging part of the "disc" without cutting the nerve, sewed him up and he's been as good as new for the past 10 years. Wes said the change was so amazing he felt as though he could have gone on a hike or played basketball as soon as he woke up. He didn't, of course. As they were rolling him back to his room after recovery he was singing "Carol, Carol, Carol" "Honey, I'm home!" "It worked." Wes is not a 'singing in public, stand-up comedian. And I don't hear my name for weeks at a time. His three days of limited morphine doses was hilarious. He also said it would have been worth it to go through the surgery without anesthesia for the amazing relief. He had a 3-4" scar that is all but disappeared now. That's the only reminder of his back pain.

Patti, Mom's doing pretty good. She had all her teeth out a week ago today. The dentist thinks she's doing real good. Her chin is still bruised some. He had to grind some arthritic bumps off. She's still on puddings, mashed potatoes, tapioca, etc. Next week, she may get to try some loose meat hamburger, ground chicken etc. She's stayed in all week of course, until yesterday, when we went to the hospital. And today too.

Best thoughts, hugs and prayers for you, your dear sister, and your mom. Sepsis is so serious. I nearly lost my youngest daughter to sepsis a couple of years ago.

Thank you all for your prayers and good thoughts. She may get out of the Critical Care Unit, and on to a regular floor, if they can find a room for her. They're bringing in a infectious disease doctor too, but the antibiotics seem to be doing the trick. She's on Leviquin (sp) which is one of the most powerful one out there (I think). Also, checking why her immune system is so low. This makes about the 3rd time this winter with pneumonia, for her. She never takes care of herself when shes sick, and lets it go to long. Long story, but she has her 2 grown sons living with her and her husband in a 1 bedroom, (plus a sm. computer room) apt. The oldest is to have hip replacement tomorrow around 1:00. He's been on steroids for a long time, and broke his hip jumping off a pickup at work. Sorry, getting off the topic here.
