What's for Dinner, Wed?

I haven't started the thread in a while, so it's my turn.

We had an ordeal at ER last nite, and were up all nite, so no sleep for well over 24 hours and more.

Took a ziti out of the freezer and we nuked it. Baked pasta is the perfect dish to have in the freezer!

What yummy meals are you preparing?

I had my supper awhile ago as I eat early, barbecued pork sandwich, corn on the cob, deviled eggs and raspberry lemonade Kool Aid to drink.

I had another fun filled day again with some of the girls.

Oriental take out... Stopped on my way home from the doctor and got a nice "all you can eat" takeout....a wonderful variety of yummies.... Larry doesn't eat Oriental, so when he is gone, I usually get take out..

Hi Terri! I'll post my dinner here, so that my thread drops down. We set a record temperature for cold last nite -30C. It warmed up to be a beautiful, sunny winter day. -11C. Hubby had the urge for hotdogs, so he had 2 of those and I had a sausage on a bun, loaded with mustard, onions and sauerkraut. Bought some potato salad and coleslaw to go with them. I made a cherry cheesecake last nite and we had that for dessert. It's the uncooked, refrigerated kind with whipped cream. Delish!

Ribs! I put a spicy rub on them this morning and made some good sauce for basting. I made some broccoli slaw and sweet potato fries to go with them. Sure was tasty. Robert took today off and the rest of the week. We went out early to do some mattress shopping (YIKES), a doctor's appointment (for him), and had lunch at Cheddars, which is great here in Huntsville. I had a nice salad and Robert had fried catfish. Where are you, ellendi? Sounds like a tropical menu! Yum.

Thanks, Talley Sue, that's exactly what I meant. That's really interesting; I had no idea that professional (as in outside, not in terms of their professionalism) musicians were rare at church weddings. What happens when the wedding is held not at a church, but at a hotel or restaurant or some other "event space"? Please forgive my ignorance. I really am just curious, not criticizing. As we don't use an organ, we don't have an "in-house" musician to play processionals, so everyone hires someone to play while the guests are being seated and then for the processional and recessional. Often a violin and flute and/or piano, or guitar and flute. Once every never, a harp. That's why I really was surprised at the idea that the outside musicians (NOT volunteering friends and family) would even be at the rehearsal at all. Most musicians have a two-hour minimum charge, and I was surprised that people would pay that just to have them at a rehearsal -- the musicians don't need it. Also, I can imagine that if your rehearsal were on a Friday or Saturday night, they would not want to give up a potential full evening gig for a rehearsal.

We woke up to a light rain this morning. It's got a nip in the air and got up to 62 degrees. We liked it! :0) Very hearty and I put hot sauce over mine. 3 lbs potatoes, diced(small) & boiled, skins on 1 lb bulk breakfast sausage 1 cup diced raw onion 6 eggs 1 Tbl flour 1/2 lb grated cheddar cheese Seasoning salt & pepper to taste Fry the sausage, drain any grease off & add onions in a skillet until fully cooked. Press the potatoes into a 13 x 9 casserole dish. Spoon the sausage mixture over the potatoes. In a large mixing bowl whisk eggs, flour, salt & pepper. Pour over casserole, distribute the grated cheese over the top. Cover with foil. Bake 1 hour @ 400 degrees. This post was edited by nicole__ on Wed, Sep 10, 14 at 21:10

Just didn't feel like making anything so went with Stouffer's fish and mac/cheese. Also had some applesauce.

Today was a beautiful day after the storms ended this morning.

Laura asked that someone post what she and her family are having tonight, her son's first night home in a long time. She made meatloaf, mashed potatoes, zucchini, and I think asparagus. Double chocolate brownies for dessert. Have fun, Laura.

I'm making chicken cutlets with an onion, mushroom, and asparagus cream sauce.....served over whole wheat pasta and wilted spinach.

I'm hoping asparagus is on sale again this week.

Shirley, good thing you keep Stouffers on hand for days like today when you don't feel like cooking.

CountrySunshine, haven't seen you here in ages!!! Welcome back. Chinese takeout is a treat and we don't even get hungry in an hour. LOL

Hubby must be feeling better if he's eatingÃ¢ÂÂ¦Ã¢ÂÂ¦hope so. I haven't been cooking that much lately. Doctor wants me to become a VeganÃ¢ÂÂ¦.not going to happen but am trying to go quasi vegetarian. It's not that much fun! I did have spinach and cheese filled ravioli tonight. Costco has the best organic raviolis. I made a delicious marinara sauce to top it with. Yum.
