Here is the dresser I am buying since it is 22" deep, 35" high and 65" wide. I thought it looked like an adult dresser so I thought it would be good since I am not bothered by this store's wicker that must use a very low voc finish. The only reason I had plastic furniture in that room was I could not handle particle board and to buy solid wood furniture, I wanted to wait until the room was cleaned up and I figured out what I wanted to do with that room. I think this is a safe way to get a piece of furniture that holds a lot and will look nice, as well as not bother my allergies. I have Durham Solid Maple Furniture in the White Sand distressed finish in my bedroom that I love with a 54" wide dresser that has 19" deep drawers. The bottom drawer is so deep, I may be able to put a blanket in there if I have this other dresser in my other room for out of season clothing.

I had to take the plastic rolling organizers out from under my bed since the plastic would not stop outgassing while the plastic furniture from the office supply store never bothered my allergies.

Hence, that room on one wall will only have one dresser but it is a small room and can't have much else other than the floor lamp I have there now. I can't take pics since I have the plastic ugly drawers in there in the middle of the room and on the wall right now and it is messy. When I get my furniture, I will take pictures. The other side of the room has the three 2-drawer putty cabinets with a stereo on top of one of them with speakers. I sure wish I had time to clean it up to take pictures but I can't move anything alone right now due to my back issues since the car accident.

I bought the glass on top and the mirror and got 12% off but now I wonder if I need the mirror.

I ordered the white but I still have time to change my mind and call tomorrow to order the White Wash. Should I just take the time to drive there and back to see the colors in the store on other furniture since the pieces are not there right now and are in the warehouse and will not arrive at the store until at the end of the week in the white I ordered. Should I ask if they can also bring out the White Wash finish so I can compare or will the lighting in the store not tell me much anyway?

I wish they would let us edit a post to add several links that work when you click them. I usually set up more than one post to have clickable links. I am too busy to drive to the store today but I am thinking of calling and asking what shade the White Wash finish is. I am also leaning towards white. I guess I would just prefer to have a bigger guest bedroom that can fit a guest bed and a complete solid maple wood set but I can't so this nice deep drawer dresser may solve my storage problem.

If anyone sees this post with some time to comment, that would be greatly appreciated. Maybe for furture posts I should put all links in one post and have people copy and paste to view them or is it better the way I do it?

The furniture was actually yellow when purchased,yrs. ago I painted white, with touches of mauve,everything you see was painted even the Wicker chair,and we like it!

SusieQ07, Thank you so much. I like the white a lot. It is a happy and clean color. You did a nice job in creating a warm and welcoming guest bedroom. Thank you so much for sharing. I was so busy today and tired from not sleeping well last night that I had no time to call the store but I am thinking of staying with the white. In some pictures the White Wash looks like a nice off-white and in other pictures it looks more beige/brownish than I like but it may look different in person.

Anyone else with pictures of wicker or even furniture painted in white or white wash finish?

My friend suggested I cancel my order despite loving the white wicker dresser in style and size and color and buy a matching cherry wood double dresser that would match the cherry book shelves I now have in the room and go better with putty cabinets in there and my black stepper. The only thing white in the room right now is my white sheer horizonatal blinds, the white trim, the white door, the white ceiling and the white trim on top of the mirrored closet doors. Maybe The white wicker would not look so bad or I should get the White Wash finish?

Help, I am to pick up the dresser this week and now I wnoder if white would look wrong when no other furniture in the room is white or will it go OK? My friend told me she bought a white dresser that clashed with her pine furniture and she hated the lack of matching so much she put the dresser in her closet. I have no room in the closet.

I just looked at new builder's home again and next to her cherry cabinets in her kitchen she has an off-white sofa that looks wonderful so maybe my friend is wrong and I can make the white dresser work in the room by adding other white accessories?

I can't visualise all the elements in your guest room because I am a "decorating preschooler" and must have pictures! But I will say, Lynn, that white wicker is fresh and pretty and will stand up to almost any wall colour you have now or pick in the future. The individual pieces translate well from guest room to sun room, etc., in a way that other wicker does not. We had a white wicker armoire and mirror in a pool cabana in Florida, and when we sold that house we used the pieces (plus a purchased twin headboard) as temporary furnishings for our daughter's room in the new house. Later, those pieces did duty in another bedroom, and the armoire is now holding paper plates, cups, napkins, etc., in our summer kitchen.

I think if you go with white you will be happy with your choice, as it is versatile!

kswl, your post came at a perfect time. I slept so poorly an had a dream that I bought the white wicker dresser and added white crochet runners to the sides of the book cases to make them go better and added a white framed picture on the other side of the room.

I am in the middle of so many deadlines and not sleeping at night from back and neck pain and now I seem to have this need to have my home neat and looking nice in all rooms and not just my beautiful Master bedroom that now is all matching.

I do not have the cherry wood here in person and it could be a different shade also and not match and will hold less clothes and then if I move and the set is discontinued then maybe I will not be able to add more pieces of furniture.

I think you are right that my first impression that the wicker dresser is grown up looking, fresh and pretty and is very versatile in matching other colors and adding on white wicker pieces in the future is doable if I ever move. The dresser will fit that wall and if I take all the plastic drawers out from the middle of the room and that wall, it may look nice and not overwhelmingly too big for the room.

I can make other parts of the room match the white wicker dresser by adding white in other places. I wish I was not in the middle of these deadlines so I could take pictures and post them but I am overwhelmed as it is in getting done my work and have been second guessing my decision which was based on finding out that I was not allergic to the white wicker hampers I bought from Fran's wicker and found out I loved the white wicker in my laundry room. Then I thought that maybe I should just get a wicker dresser in my spare room from this place that has wicker that is not outgassing like other places. Then I saw the size of the drawers of this set and they gave me 12% off and since I live in driving distance from the store, I could save on shipping. Then I saw on their website that the White Wash finish was a color I had not considered so I got confused if I should switch to the white wash finish and put the order on hold until I get a chance to go to the store. Hence, I shared the pictures I sent to the list with a friend last night and she felt I needed a cherry dresser. But to buy a solid wood cherry dresser usually takes ordering from a retailer that orders from a special company that could take weeks and may not give me a good price on one piece of furniture.

The white dresser arrived yesterday and it is perfect for the room! It is not too glossy so is more of an eggshell finish to me and is not a stark white. It really made the room look brighter and looks like an adult dresser. I will take pictures when I have time and after my mirror is put up on the wall.
