Color suggestions for white bedroom furniture

Hi all,

I have a guest bedroom in our basement that has all white furniture. There is one chest of drawers that is off white/cream in color, but the bed , armoire and side tables are white. I am trying to find bedding and a color scheme for decor that would go with white furniture but still warm the room up and give it a cosy feel. Without having to paint the furniture, what color suggestions do you have?

There is kilim beige on the wall, and the trim is painted off white. Carpet is also a beigy taupe neutral color. The room is south facing with a full window.

I would really appreciate any pictures of white (but warm and cosy) bedrooms! Thanks for your help!

I love white furniture, any color scheme will go with it, here are pics. of my guest suite, complete with Pc for guest use and their own full bath rm. The furniture at one time was gaudy yellow, I re-painted white with mauve highlights..

whatever colors you choose will undoubtly work.

What are your favorite colors? Any color goes with white. Sounds like the room is already warm facing south, I wouldnt pick reds/yellow/ oranges what about nice blues and greens to help cool the room a bit.

From the way you describe the room, you are wanting something soft, colorful, but that will keep the feeling light and sunny. Any of these might fill that bill, because they are both pastel and sophisticated, and would provide the shot of color that looks so great with toile. There's a really lovely blue-green from Duron called "Window Pane." Duron's "Gleeful" is a near-perfect sunny apple green. Other choices might be BMoore's "Queen Anne Pink" or "Windham Cream" from the historic group, or "Green Tea" or "Facepowder" from the Mount Vernon group from Sherwin-Williams.

Does she want white-white or creamy shabby chic white? DD has furniture from the Ethan Allen Maison collection. We were hesitant to purchase the creamy white furniture since alot of the offerings from most furniture stores that come in white are for young children. The Maison collection is an adult collection and the pieces aren't "smaller scale". Fast forward 5 years, DD is now going to be 18 and still loves the Maison collection pieces. I guess it is a matter of finding furniture that doesn't look too "young" and won't look like children's furniture when she is going off to college. When DD finally goes out on her own, she can either take the furniture for her place, or I will use her bedroom as a guest room with a shabby chic, cottage-feel. We wanted her to like what she chose, yet since it was a significant investment, we wanted something with more of an "adult" look. How will your DD's bedroom be purposed when she finally leaves the nest? Will she take the furniture with her to her own apartment/home?

I agree, would not do orange anything. Love the middle scroll work on your bed. Thinking the dark frame is difficult. A light oak or 'sand' colored stain would be nice. It'd go with your leaving toward beach blue and white. If it were me I'd stay away from white because you've already got that balanced in curtains and duvet and door. Is this furniture strippable? Can you restain it? Is the type of wood with it? Otherwise I'd consider painting frame black then buying new chests. What's the scroll made of?

Rethinking and may want to keep Sandlot Gray as the wall color. The one window faces east so gets morning sun only. Instead of repainting, I would like to purchase new bedding. Need help with bedding color ideas. The color is a brownish gray with purple. Suggestions please? I have looked everywhere and don’t see a decorated bedroom with sandlot gray walls. Thanks

Check out the Lenoxdale Toile or Kensington duvets from Country Curtains. You can see a whole room picture of each on their website. Visit your favorite linen websites for other ideas.

How about these colors from a Pottery Barn bedroom? The comforter says cozy to me but the colors look crisp with the white.

I think you could use warmer colors too like poppy in the same way. To me, a comforter, lots of pillows and a throw always make me feel warmer!

SusieQ...Love your color scheme...the room does indeed look cosy and well put together.
Oceanna.. the pics you posted were beautiful....they really inspired me! I think I am leaning towards the cream/red combo for warmth...thinking something like creams/chocolates with red accents.....However, I also love blues/creams too. I may have to paint the walls again to achieve that desired look...it just seems that kilim beige is TOO neutral, and I am not sure what kind of undertones it is giving off.
I have a sage/cream comforter in there right now....with green and chocolate accent decor but it just does not seem to 'jiving' with the kilim beige and white furniture.

We have white/creamy white BR furniture, and our comforter set is a light tan and blue paisley, Harbor House Chelsea pattern. Our walls are kind of an odd taupe color painted by PO's, but I'm hoping to get a richer gold color.

Need to have something not so feminine to appeal to DH.

I also really liked this Martha Stewart set. It might work well with your colors. However, this set is onsale a lot, and it is not worth $220 IMO. The main reason I bought the Chelsea was that the comforter was thick and lush, while I felt the MS one was a little thin. However, it might be great for a guest room.
