Lunch?

I didn't eat last night and know I need to get something in my stomach. But I'm too lazy to go to the store (I'm at the office) and nothing really sounds good. What did/are you having?

I found a recipe if anyone is interested 7 layer salad 1 pound bacon 1 large head iceberg lettuce - rinsed, dried, and chopped 1 red onion, chopped 1 (10 ounce) package frozen green peas, thawed 10 ounces shredded Cheddar cheese 1 cup chopped cauliflower 1 1/4 cups mayonnaise 2 tablespoons white sugar 2/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese Directions 1.Place bacon in a large, deep skillet. Cook over medium high heat until evenly brown. Crumble and set aside. 2.In a large flat bowl, place the chopped lettuce and top with a layer of onion, peas, shredded cheese, cauliflower and bacon. 3.Prepare the dressing by whisking together the mayonnaise, sugar and Parmesan cheese. Drizzle over salad and refrigerate until chilled.

I had the usual lunch I have every day after I fasted overnight and got a blood draw at 11. It's Trader's super bread, sliced avocado, sliced hard cooked egg, layers of mozzarella cheese on top and bottom, grilled for five minutes in a panini maker. Beside that is a big bowl of blueberries and blackberries topped with a big scoop of Traders vanilla yogurt. Coffee.

Dinner tonight is homemade pizza! i started the dough yesterday and it fermented all night in the fridge. I made a sauce of sundried and fresh tomatoes with evoo, garlic, thyme, oregano and marjoram. Parbaked the crust and then turned it over so the crispy side was on the bottom, dressed the pie with sauce, thinly sliced shallot, wilted spinach, a bit of bacon, uncured pepperoni, whole milk mozzarella and a dusting of parmesan. Here it is just out of the oven! I have had a long day and am ready for this treat! So yummy! It’s almost cooled enough to cut.

Coming from CT, if they take the train it would be into Grand Central. From GCT to the NYPL is about 2 blocks, assuming you exit from the correct door. That said, I think they shared a limo last time? My concern about BPG is not that they will be non-existent, but that the best people will have left, and a restaurant that may close (not just relocate) is tempted to cut corners and not care about reputation/reviews. I say "no." Uber in NYC is a mixed bag. Moreso than any other place I use it, I get time quotes that are then drastically increased when I actually select a mode, and i get cancellations after waiting for some time. All this while I watch taxis pass. My experience is mostly rush hour Midtown so YMMV.

Left over Rotisserie Chicken! But, I might just take the meat off the bone and make a chicken spagetti.

Leslie--was it a breaded tenderloin? OMG, I'm craving one. I have to make ours--can't get them in Florida like Indiana.

I took a nap instead of lunch. Because of the dinner thread yesterday, we're having tacos for supper.

I had to run out to the bank this morning and took the dogs. When they ride with me they have learned to expect a fast food burger or breakfast sandwich off the dollar menu at a drive-thru. Since I had breakfast for last nights dinner we went to Jack-In-the Box. The pups shared a junior bacon cheeseburger and I had grilled chicken strips. But every so often i get a craving for those mystery meat deep fried tacos they sell. At 2 for a dollar who could resist? So now I have watch my diet the rest of the day. No room for any more junk.

Ran downtown to pick up tickets for Jesus Christ Super Star, stopped at local cafeteria.
Packed house!

Hmbgr steak, (no gravy), steamed spinach and hominy. Half a cornbread stick.

My DD and I went to the Olive Garden for soup (wedding) and salad and delicious peach/raspberry iced tea....Yummy.....Then spent the afternoon shopping.....
