Sheets, Pillowcases - Allergic Reaction - Help!

sailcloth

In the past several months I've purchased and

returned numerous sheets and pillowcases.

Some were all cotton, while others were a

cotton/polyester blend. I always wash

them before they're used for the first time.

A few minutes after my body touches these

fabrics I start to feel warm. After an an hour

or so I feel like I could fry an egg on my

stomach! I don't sweat. I just feel incredibly hot.

I have a lot of bedding that was made at least

twenty years ago when the textile industry still

had factories in the USA. This type of bedding

is now sold on eBay as "vintage" bedding.

I never had any problems with this older bedding.

Most of this "vintage" bedding was a cotton/poly

blend.

I've seen organic bedding which supposedly

is made with pesticide free cotton and no added

dyes. It feels very fuzzy. I'm sure it would collect

every particle of dust, hair, etc.

This problem is driving me crazy. I can't continue

to use my collection of old bedding forever.

Whenever I try something new I end up not sleeping

for most of the night.

I recently spent $50.00 on two pillowcases. We

always think that every problem can be resolved

by throwing money at it. Even these pricey

pillowcases turned my head into an oven.

The older fabrics were always cool to the touch,

almost cold. Modern bedding has an unnatural

warmth.

I started to think this problem may be psychological

and not physiological until I had several of my friends

touch a new pillowcase with one hand and an old

pillowcase with the other. They all agreed with me

that the old pillowcase felt several degrees cooler

than the new.

Is there any bedding available today that will not

roast me alive?
