In the case of refrigerators, bigger is better. Since you're hoping to eliminate the deep freeze in the pantry, you will need to make sure you have PLENTY of freezer space. Many of the larger cu ft fridges have more fridge space but the freezer space is the same as smaller cu ft fridges. I second the Samsung recommendation. We have the Kenmore Elite badged Samsung counter depth. We chose the Kenmore version because with all else being the same, I liked the handles better. The one thing I didn't believe was true when the salesman said it, was that the fruits & veggies would stay fresh longer. Well, we've been in the new house 6 months and by golly, he was right! Pleasantly surprised :-) That would come in handy for storing the raw ingredients for the baby food. It is also quiet--you can't even hear it running except for when the ice drops into the bin. Some have reported problems with their icemakers, but we have had no problems--the icemaker will put itself in the 'Off' mode if the bin is super full. There's a reset button for that that I think alot of people miss. Since you're also looking at Kenmore, remember that Kenmore appliances are made by a myriad of different companies. In the fridge department alone you've got Whirlpool, LG, Kitchen Aid, Samsung & GE making refrigerators with a Kenmore badge. You'll want to check reviews on both the Kenmore badged refrigerator as well as the one with the manufacturer's label on it. Generally you can tell which manufacturer made a particular model by the ice maker and/or the cooling system design as they typically use the same ones in the Kenmore that they do in their regular lineup ;-) Here's a link to the full size Samsung that we bought the counter depth version of. It's one of the largest 36" wide refrigerators on the market at 29.6 cuft. It only has 1 review and the guy gave the fridge 1 star because he was having problems with the apps (yes, you read that right--the apps). Who buys a fridge for the apps, for heaven's sake?!? I can't help with the technique but I can tell you a friend papered her guest bath with the old pull down school maps. The bright colored shiny-ish ones. I believe hers are from the 1940's and 1960's, Europe. I am so in love with that bathroom. She also used a vintage avocado green toilet. Who knew I would ever be envious of someone with an avocado green toilet. :D Good luck with yours.

I would not want to go back and meet my ancestors, as I think that a lot of them were mean and cruel, at least from what I know about them. My father was bad enough, and he learned his cruel behavior from his male ancestors. His great-grandfather did free his slaves, however, and paid them wages instead of making them work for free. I never met my paternal grandfather, but my cousins told me that he was cruel, and some of my male cousins on that side of the family were also cruel. It seems that mainly the men were bad, but not all of them. If you go to the future by only a few years, or up to 100 years, things might be bleak, but if you go to the future 1000 years from now, things might have worked themselves out. I would want to travel to a time in the future when there are no more fundamentalist religions and no more religious conflicts or wars. I don't know how long it will take humans to learn to live peacefully, since wars have been prevalent as long as civilization has existed. I would like to go to a time in the future when greed would be a thing of the past.

I do like a lot of touristy spots: ie, Las Vegas. We went to "Fly Away" & took a sky diving lesson. Toured the dam. Saw a couple of shows. Paid a helicopter to fly us over Lake Mead & around. Stayed in a room right above the erupting volcano. Caesars Fantasy Towers was awesome. People in costume handing you towels when you get out of the pool. ☺ Been 3 times. Florida, I'd go back. I'd like to dive w/ the manatees & there are a few ship wrecks to explore. Great Cuban food. Hell Grand Cayman, I'd skip next time. ☺ Yes, that's a real place. The local, bad/barrio part of St Maarten, I would pass on. The local guy selling BBQ chicken out his kitchen window wasn't as good as the locals bragged. Mine was raw in the middle! ☺ (that's the trip where we arrived and our hotel had burned down. ha ha We couldn't understand why the taxi driver left us @ the airport & took the next fare when we told him where we were going.) Exuma Bahamas, Georgetown, was nasty on land, but GREAT diving if you just moor your yacht at sea on a coral reef mooring line, like our captain did...had FANTASTIC cayes!

No - if you change one thing, it will touch or change
everything that happened after that. I wouldn't want
to take the chance of losing some of my best times,
in order to change past History - as tempting as it
would be to remove the really bad happenings.

I used to think I would.
I've had so many bad events in my life.
I would now say no. Everything I experienced has led be to become the person I am today, and the place that I am at today.
And although my life will very soon change again, I see it as an opportunity. Most people would see it as a hopeless situation from which seems like nearly impossible to recover from.

I agree with Diane and Monica, so my answer would be no. Things I "might like to change" have all been learning experiences and were "meant to be" a part of my life.

Good question!

I'd have to say no. I've many bad things happen in my life, but each one has taught me something important either about myself or someone else in my life. I may not have gotten the message at the time of the "event", with some messages being years later, but that was through my own denial. Now when I am faced with something difficult I ask myself what can I take from this.

When all is said and done - probably not. Don't think I've ever set out to deliberately hurt anybody and other than that it would probably be like a house of cards. Change one and it all would collapse. Nope.

Although I have no regrets and live for the future instead of the past I would be lying if I said I wouldn't have done things differently knowing what I know now.

I wouldn't give up my experiences for anything. I would of played a few cards dealt me differently though.

Sometimes I wish I lived in a simpler time, but I'm not sure there was a simpler time. Sometimes I think I would like to have been a pioneer woman crossing our country, but probably after a day of that I would wish myself back in 2010.

So I guess I'll stay where I am.

Socks, I feel the same way you do. Simpler times. I guess that is why I love hearing the kids laughing and playing on my street. Such a simple time to be a child again.

But, to answer the question, yes, I would do several things differently. My life has had some really hard knocks because of the decisions I made. Hindsite.....

What an interesting question! MY initial answer was oh gosh yes, but I really don't know if changing something would affect the outcome of one's life. I think that the things that happened that weren't great would still happen, only with a different person or in a different set of circumstances. I do believe all things happen for a reason even if the reason is not obvious at the time.
My best hope is that I can remember in my 'next life' what didn't work so well in this one and hopefully not repeat all of it all over again.

I don't have any regrets, but if I knew then what I know now, I would definitely have done a couple things differently. There are a few stupid decisions I've made in the past that are making my life a little more complicated now. But I guess that's life.
