Buying from relo....saga has ended!

Well, finally the saga has ended (you can read about in other posts). DH himself called the relo company (he didn't have the new attitude I did), then the Prudential relo office (they suck!!) and miraculously, we get the answer within 30 mintues of him calling.

Their offer on our requested repairs: $1k credit. Totally ridiculous

Repairs need:

- PB pipe found from street to main, no shut off, cannot get insurance on house with that, approx. $4.5k to repair

- fireplace not working properly, damper is broken, needs replacement

- garage door does not open & close

- rotting wood around french doors leading to deck, doors have become misaligned and do not fit properly

Those were the major things, we didn't care about the minor things. Actually, we really only wanted the pipe fixed or credit to fix it, since we can't get insurance with that pipe and they are now illegal to install anyway.

Some more tidbits:

- we are the 2nd contract on the house

- we didn't ask for any closing & had no contigencies other than home inspection/financing

What a bunch of asses. We waited 3 weeks for this crap? Anyway, we obviously said "hell no" and have asked for our earnest money back.

So, that's that..........on to our "real, new house".
