White is classic, and goes with everything!

I looked at the divinity finish, but it's been a year or two. From what I remember, I wouldn't be concerned about them going together. I think whites are more interesting if everything isn't' exactly matching. You need some variances in tones, undertones or textures to keep it from being too sterile.

White is a neutral-not a color. You can wear white with anything and you can put white in any kitchen! Also a white farmhouse sink is traditional and the color it is meant to be! Love it-your sink is a wonderful addition to your kitchen-and nothing wrong with having it now. I would design my whole kitchen around it if it is the one thing you wanted bad enough to get it immediately! Creamy white (or slightly creamy white) will be just the right contrast to be interesting!

Our Shaw sink sat in our living room, pushed behind the couch for a year before it was installed. Its first job was to hold books and magazines. I bet it is much happier being used as a sink! I think that any shade of white or cream will work. Our cabinets and backsplash are a soft off white or bone white, stove and sink are whiter.

I also think that colored cabinets would contrast and would be nice in that it would highlight the sink more. I am planning on painting mine a color in the future.

My cabinets, Decora antique bronze, are a very creamy almost yellow color and I'm going to have the same sink as you...it's sitting in my garage right now. My thought was the sink is gorgeous and is a statement in itself. It does not have to "match" anything, although as others have said, white goes with everything. I did ask the sales lady if maybe I should get the biscuit color, she said, "in her mind, a farmhouse sink is white." Good Luck.

Ricklish it is called "Buttered Toffee" and it is a Benjamin Moore color from their Serenity collection.

If it's any consolation, I did something very similar -- heard about the horrid backorder and convinced the local guy to sell me his biscuit floor sample, then very carefully matched the cabinet color (soft cream by Showplace) to the sink, then ordered a faucet with white-white handles and realized I just couldn't have that biscuit sink right next to the white faucet handles. After days of agonizing, decided to swap the sink for a white one. Because the cream cabinets are on the island and the sink is on the perimeter, I'm not as crazed as I would be staring at a mis-matched sink and faucet. I'm pretty picky about mixing white and off-white, so my opinion is: (a) you can mix two adjacent items if they're not intended to match; (b) you can mix lots of white-ish shades together as long as you have lots (or at least 3) different shades; (c) mismatched shades are easier with country style decor and harder with sleek modern.

P.S. The Great Shaw's Sink Backorder of Spring 2008 has ended.

My cabinets will be Medallion in Divinity and I have a white Shaw sink. Cabs go in Thursday!! I will post pics of the sink and cabs ASAP. Of note, I had initially considered Medallion's" white chocolate" for the cabinet color but when I brought home the paint sample it looked more tan/grey than white. The lesson learned is bring the paint sample home and look at it in the light of your kitchen.

I think your cabinets sound divinely delicious! (pun intended) I realized while I was typing my prior post that "wince every time I look at the off white sink and white handled faucet, for the rest of my life," wasn't actually the best idea. Maryinnc is right, the best way to decide on a color is to take it home and stare at it in your kitchen throughout the day as the light changes. Please post pix when finished, I'd love to see yours!

I think that a contrasting countertop will help set the sink apart. My countertop will be soapstone. Here's an example from atticmag sink gallery of what I mean:
