Extra Bathroom Walls filled with Art

I have never done this type of look before but I had all these random art pieces that I decided to hang all in one room. The bathtub area (the 4th wall) will be free from art with a simple camel beige shower curtain. Going left to right around the room.

EG3d - So glad to see you posting again - and you just cannot stop hanging pictures, can you, lol! You have such a great personal collection, so turning your bathroom into an art gallery is inspired!

I would look for art that is large and squarish for just over the tub portion. Then i would find a shelf or two of some kind to go over the toilet. not an ugly cabinet, but something that will fill the space but not compete with the art. Thanks for the opinions ... Yes, the turtle wall hanging, or it could be a bowl or platter (but with the flaw, it's not food safe). I do really like turtles, but it's more of their a happy association with the trips I've taken to Hawai, not like a decorating obession or anything. My house is small, so I only have a limited amount of space, so no place for the turtle except this one place in my bathroom. The whale triptych (actually 4 pieces, not sure what that is called) behind it is absolutely gorgeous, and what originally caught my eye. But too big for the space, and way out of the range I'm willing to spend (and overpriced, to be honest) 1 hr until the craft fair closes down ....hmmm ....

OK, after I saw MagdalenaLee's shower curtain I don't feel so bad about my insect themed bathroom. This is kind of my "reveal" from another post. I was looking for a small bathroom rug because my space is too small for most of the over-the-counter rugs out there. I was initially thinking of a "northwoods" theme but found this rug below, loved it, and decided to go with it. It was PERFECT (except for when it wasn't) Really toned down the blue/pink vibe in the room from the flooring that has to stay for now. BUT, once I washed it, it faded, and now won't lay flat, ends curl. Color variation not due to lighting, due to fading. Big disappointment. But the colors and general aquatic insect theme are working for me, so I'm just going to wait until the next good rug comes along. The picture below is of a little stream called the Weise, in our town's sister city in Germany. I have hiked along the stream, and the picture was a gift from some exchange visitors my folks hosted many years back. Not great art but meaningful. It doesn't have a searing hole in the middle, that's just my bad photo lighting. My mom went to the photo exhibit for the caddisfly picture and brought me back a poster which I framed. I have another picture of a spider web but don't have a photo of it yet.

Awesome suggestions! I've been sparked! @njmomma: I like this example. As the original buffet comes with a mirror, I don't like it. Perhaps a separate vintage mirror would be nice to reflect some light in the space. Then I can hang pictures around it. @yvonne: I have hordes of pottery and you bring up a good idea; instead of buying more art I should hang my pottery on the wall, after taking off the mirror top. We have quite a few family pictures; in our previous home the buffet was flanked by those vintage items. However as this space has less traffic than the front hallway where I was considering for the family pictures, I'll keep the pottery in this location and the family pictures in the front hallway. @holly: I'm refining my mint favorites. I'm looking at reds, oranges in abstracts and landscapes. However previous suggestions of using pottery may put Minted on the back burner. @tedbixby: yes I have considered putting the wicker chairs on either side of the buffet..To the right of the buffet is a dry sink which is normally in the living room but due to the Christmas tree we had to switch it out with a drop leaf table (which is usually to the right of the buffet under the window). @grover: the room functions as it is. There's a dog pen because we have to pen them when we're gone. We don't use a dining room table, so it doesn't need to function as that. And we have an abundance of antiques but less room than our previous house so we have to find a wall for them. I wish we could put them in storage, but these are my husband's family pieces and he's not interested in doing that. And he's not ready to reduce the inventory, so we have to work with the pieces in the square footage that we have.

Those kitty cats, how sweet are they? And the cat's eyes, and the bunny, and the leafy painting, and the red mats...just wonderful.

Thank you so very much! With the exception of the gold cat eyes on the black background I drew or painted the other 3 art pieces on that last wall. The first wall shown has two of my pencil drawings and my tiger needle point art. The other pieces are some prints I purchased or photos I took or found on the internet. Thanks again. It was fun!!

Very nice job with your powder room, it's so much fun to look at. flyleft I'm having deja vu as well, and I think it's cuz of a formerly frequent poster who has an art filled, hot pink powder room, unfortunately I'm blanking on her name right now. She also has some stunning and fun encaustic tiles in her laundry room.

In a rare and shining moment of brain clarity, I recalled that the poster I was trying to think of with the art filled, hot pink powder room is rmkitchen (ahh, I think).
