Comments (5)Treasure is right that chosing artwork is very personal and hard to do for someone else unless you know them well. Personally I love holly-kay's idea of using something other than a framed piece of traditional art like china or a pretty tray. Maybe a shelf with some silver candlesicks or cut glass jars filled with pretty soaps? Maybe you even have some lovely or meaningful items you could use already. For framed artwork The New York Public Library Digital Library has a huge collection of artwork you can browse through to use as inspiration or even download and print low resolution images (see link below for tips from the Creativity Exchange on using the images) And just because you pick something now, doesn't mean you can't change it out later if you tire of your first choice or find something you love more. You could even purposely chose two options and display one with brighter colors for spring and summer and the another for fall and winter. I know the thought of choosing two when you can't chose one seems daunting, but I have found the freedom from having to find "the one" lets me focus on what makes me happy. Happy hunting!! Comments (12)Rather than a picture, have you thought about getting something three dimensional? The first thing that popped into my head was two or three fossil fish mounted very minimally so they appear to "float" on the wall. (easily found on ebay, or google fossil fish) Something like a corbel, or even a small freize on the wall would also be eye catching, unexpected, and unique. But please, none of that wrought iron curlicue stuff, use something that represents a REAL architectural element, preferably deco style. The link below is for an ebay seller who does reproduction plaques, he has a website too with more designs. Other than that, without being able to see the rest of the room, about all I'd do with that rug/sink combo is put the liquid soap in a stainless steel dispenser. Comments (3)Tile Source carries Art Nouveau tiles. Even if they don't work out for you there are some ideas in the link below. You can also search ebay for light fixtures but be flexible with your search. A lot of people lump things in Art Deco. Art Nouveau influences are seen a lot in my area - more than Craftsman - it can be very pretty. Congrats on your find! Your room sounds like its going to turn out great. Comments (18)EG3d- Very nice job with your powder room, it's so much fun to look at. flyleft I'm having deja vu as well, and I think it's cuz of a formerly frequent poster who has an art filled, hot pink powder room, unfortunately I'm blanking on her name right now. She also has some stunning and fun encaustic tiles in her laundry room. sandyponder...See MoreUser
