Oh my.... that is really funny!

That cracked me up. Those photos looked like the ones my realtor took.

It's pretty bad considering I can't see any pictures.
I don't have the spam player installed. Nothing wrong with low bandwidth photos, folks. If I don't have the player I just click away to another listing.

I didn't watch the whole thing, but I did giggle at the photo of the blue sponge-painted... room? It really wasn't clear what the space was, besides awfully blue.

And then the voiceover, after a long pause, says "I just have no clue what this is." Cracked me up.

I gigled at the picture of the shoes....and the old man in the chair.
"just didn't want to wake him up" ROFL!

Oh my gosh, yes, the old man in the chair! The photo was so dark I didn't realize anyone was sitting there until the narrator mentioned him. I had to tilt my monitor to make out the detail.

Geez, I *hope* he was only sleeping!

Actually I have seen much worse pictures. Those pics are boring and don't show much, but what really gets me are the pictures of dirty messy homes. I've seen pictures of unmade beds, with clothes strewn all over the floor, or dirty dishes all over the counters. Why???

I've seen alot of pictures like those. I've seen worse as well. I think it's really sad....

I want to know how they watch TV with it hanging off in a hallway?

Another pet peeve I have is pictures of toilets with the lid up. Here's a couple I found from the same listing:

If you're selling an almost 6000sf, over a million dollar home, you should declutter!

I couldn't figure out what you meant for a while! Then the playhut in the master appeared and it was downhill from there. Don't you wonder what's wrong with the kitchen since there isn't a close up of any of it? Very strange listing.

It looks like they got the main level done before the photographer arrived but didn't have time for the rest of the house and just gave up. It's not that bad as far as day to day living--I've seen a lot worse! but for selling and posting pictures on the WEB for all to see, yeah--ya need to straighten up!

And I could see the kitchen just fine and thought it was gorgeous! The pics that were there made me want to see more (what ARE those beautiful backsplash tiles??) which is what the pics are *supposed to do.

I looked at the listings of the guy who put together that slide show, and they certainly don't belong in Architectural Digest either! Talk about the pot and the kettle...

Yeah, I've seen a lot of bad photos as well. But the $1M listing didn't seem too bad to me. Obviously they have kids, so what are you supposed to do with all the toys?? There are only so many places you can hide them. I just don't understand when dog owners and parents have to bend over backwards to make it seem like they don't have children or pets! Use a little imagination! My poor son is gonna have a nervous break down if I don't sell this house soon and keep telling him "if you want to play with a new toy, you have to trade the one you have." He's 2 years old, for cryin out loud! And so what if I have a dog food bowl in the laundry room. I -have- a dog!

Vent over. I'm stressing big time, can you tell? Been on the market 3 LONG weeks, only a few showings, first open house tomorrow, and running out of $$ fast. :(

Stuff can be moved for the pictures. It is not hard to move something to one side of the room while a picture is being taken. If the clutter cannot be moved the picture should not be taken.

Have to agree about the toilet seats up.

So we're supposed to be able to see past brightly painted rooms, but we can't be expected to see past a few toys?

That house looked warm, bright and lovely to me. Model homes are cold.

I've never understood the whole keeping the toilet lid down thing.

It's the blurry, wobbly photos that get to me. They make me feel seasick. I feel terrible for folks with tremors because I get the shakes sometimes too, but if my pictures were coming out like that I would be scrounging up a tripod PDQ! Is it from using cheap camera phones? I have no clue how people think that's an appropriate depiction of their house - I'm not likely to even go look at a house if the pictures don't show anything but an amorphous smear. I too don't understand why people don't pick up their strewn-about laundry or hide the dirty dishes in the oven when their pictures are being taken, I've been a bit stunned by some of the photos I've seen. I would be so embarrassed and I'm nowhere near a neatnik (in fact under normal conditions we're a bit more on the "casual semi-clutter" end of the spectrum - the whole house-must-stay-pristine-at-all-times bit is driving us both more than a little crazy). If someone is still living there, I expect a house to look less perfect when I go to see it in person, but when you're trying to get people's attention wouldn't you want to "put your best foot forward"? It's almost worse than not having any interior pictures at all to have it look trashy, because then one wonders just what else has been let slide, and just how disgusting those carpets are (and how much it's going to cost to tear them all out to put down new flooring). Oh, and yes, DH was one step ahead of me stuffing things into cabinets and closets and shuffling things from one side of the room to the other so I could take my pictures, and we had to crate the dog to keep him out of the shots because he loooooves the camera. :-)

I had a terrible problem with tilted-looking pictures when I was taking my pictures, although mine weren't as bad as the "sinking kitchen". My camera was straight, it was just the angles that I was forced to take many of my pictures at in order to get a decent view of a room made things like countertops look a bit askew. But if I tilted the camera to get the countertop to look straight, the window would then go off kilter. I couldn't use a square-on view that made everything look properly straight and still show anything worth seeing.

This is my favorite all time. What the heck are they trying to sell?? The baby...........
