I use a neti pot (aka 'nasal irrigation') for general sinus health. Since I started about 2 years ago, my chronic sinus issues have improved by 80%. I mix 1/4 tsp salt (with a little bicarbonate) per cup of water, heat for about 12 seconds in the microwave to make it approximately body temperature, and put it in a neti pot and pour it through one nostril, out the other. This helps moisturize the sinuses, flushes allergens, and improves the health of the cilia and mucous membranes. Some neti practices include adding a drop or two of vegetable oil (sesame or sunflower) to moisturize when humidity is low, or use of diluted herbal teas with salt to directly treat the sinuses. I bought my neti pot at a major pharmacy chain near my house - it included basic instructions and 50 or 100 premixed saline packets (nice for travel). Now I mix my own salt and the cost per day is a fraction of a cent. There is a short book on Neti by David Frawley that covers the subject in more depth. Finally I have determined that the hard drive is failing. I suddenly had the boot disk message appear several days ago, and when I checked the boot order in BIOS, noted that no hard disk is listed. In attempting to use recovery disks, got a message "No hard drive detected." I then opened the tower and checked the connections, which were good and tight. Did a little dusting while I had it open. Finally, today I went into BIOS setup and saw the hard drive listed and decided to run the SMART test from there. It failed with a notation of "7" and then something about "no read." Since I just bought this drive about a year ago, I checked Western Digital's site and found out that it has a 3 year warranty. I started filling out information online and hit a stone wall when I could not get the page for RMA instructions to load, so I ended up phoning. Once I gave the serial number and was asked the problem, I was offered a replacement using either of two choices. I chose to receive the new drive and then return the old one within 30 days. For this, I had to give them a credit card number so that in case I did not return the old drive, they would charge my credit card $45. I didn't want to have to ship the old one back and then wait for the new one; also I don't have a proper box to ship it in. This way I will ship it back in the box the new one is in. By the way, I did a full backup on Friday, so hopefully putting the OS and all my programs etc. back will not be such a hassle as using the rescue disks. I used my Acronis program to clone the entire hard drive to the external drive I have. I may come asking for help when the time comes to reverse the operation and put things back on the internal hard drive. Thanks everyone for your help and support.

Now that is just down right untrue lydia. What is up with you people on this forum? I have suffered from chronic sinus problems for years and years, and that is EXACTLY why I tried the product I am taking. This forum is for people who are having problems and would like suggestions, not for people to bash those that have found things that really help. I have never run into such a bunch of rude negative people in my life. I will state one last time!!! I have NOT given ANY information to ANYBODY that would send them directly to me to proffit. I WONT DO THAT! So why don't you all just get off my back. I am ONLY here because I have found R E L I E F ! I would like to share what I have found with people in pain! I have plenty of ways to market, but the Garden Web Forums is NOT one of them. And are you on the forums I am on? How the heck would I try to sell this on the Birding forums where I hang out? You should know what you are talking about before you start accusing people. This is the ONLY forum I have mentioned ANYTHING about Xango on because it is the HEALTH forum and I am TRYING to HELP. I dont see how it is going to help on a birding or wildlife forum. Those are the forums that interest me (now don't you look silley) I came in this one for one reason only, and that was to share what has helped me! I DO NOT TAKE SINUS /ALLERGEY MEDICATION ANYMORE. I DO NOT SUFFER SINUS PAIN ANYMORE. I cant share this with people who suffer? WHY? For crying out loud I am a resource coordinator for elderly and disabled people, I HELP people, thats what I do! I think I posted on your thread in Kitchens (that was you, right?) I vote for plain, full-height kitchen cabinets over the sink, to increase your total cabinet space, and then to dedicate a section of upper cabinet shelf to the meds. I don't think you need some special cabinet--you just need enough space, total, in the kitchen so that you can dedicate a single shelf to the medications. And you need enough counter space that you can work w/ the daily pill-minder box, etc. Which means, you don't have to put the meds directly over the sink. If you have a glass-front cabinet over the sink, that might make you enjoy those over-sink cabinets more, and you could put glassware or something more attractive there, and then you can put the meds in the cabinet NEXT to the sink, over the counter . (bonus: if you drop the pills taking the out, no worries about them falling in the stuff soaking in the sink) Put each person's meds in their own shoebox-size box (my vote: without a lid), and set it on the shelf. This creates a sort of removable drawer--and you can store medications all the way to the back of the shelf, but you can access them all in one smooth movement.
