A "funny" from my husband....

Regarding the stranger intruder in my house yesterday morning. He entered my living room and walked into the dining room....neither of which have had any work done on them. We removed the drywall and old wall paper and the walls of those two rooms are just the old wood....used lumber that the house was built out of, about 100 years ago. Jody said he must have said to himself...."Damn, have I made a mistake! There is nothing in here worth stealing." There is nothing in the living room but an exercise bike and several boxes of canned cat food. In the dining room, there are just the window screens, stacked against the wall. He must have thought he made a colossal mistake to find nothing in my house worth taking.

Even if he had looked in the other rooms, except for my old junk and cupboards, and dishes, etc., there is nothing of value in the house. I have an old computer and a tv so old that I have to use a converter box with it. I could almost feel sorry for him. :-))

Marilyn you are so funny...I know we would be friends...I love that about you...my husband says that I am the most unspoiled woman he has ever met...I always felt maybe he was right but then there is you...so maybe not....

I know there have been times when he has said ...no honey..guys talk and I can't tell them I bought my wife a belt sander for her birthday.... or a router for Christmas...LOL see you are the same kind of person.....cept that was years ago...now we gave up gifts long ago...LOL

"When we built our house and I was choosing paint colors I must have seemed agitated because at one point dh said "let's just paint everything white" and I shut up real fast and didn't consult him again! Fast forward 5 years and the one room I did paint off white I decided to paint a color. He said " No! You'll paint it some yucky green!" Huh? He has many times said how nice my decorating is and is very proud when he gets compliments on the house. Not that he had much to do with any of it!" When DH and I started dating, he had a new build. All the walls were white and he liked it that way. I started having him watch decorating shows while we were building another house. Thought that Matt and Sherri would be a gentle introduction and then moved on to some of the before and after shows. Now, if I haven't finished painting a room, he'll ask "When are we getting rid of these white walls?" :)

ughhh i would not want my dh to read that! i can't take my eye off him at border's book store or he will get over to the display rack w/ the little wind up toys, uhhh he'll wind up as many as he can! he can't go into kmart now after knocking over a diet pepsi display LOL i wouldn't go in the store the day that happened i waited in the car (hate that store) and wondered why it took an hour to run in and p/u a 2L bottle LOL. i usually try not to take him places lol ~ liz

That's really funny, Kara :-) When I go running on the rail trail, I often think that garbage cans or benches on the side of the trail are people. At least I haven't started talking to them... yet!

There was a thread here recently about "romantic" husbands. I had said we don't exchange gifts, but my husband knows what I like and will bring me little "odds and ends" when he finds them. He was so proud of himself. He brought me a bag of 22 old valve handles. I had found abut half a dozen when I was taking care of Ken, in some junk in his garage, and he gave them to me. I've seen things made out of them on Pinterest. But, Jody was so proud that he found these for me. He had taken some junk to the scrap yard and bought the bag for $2. I don't know what I will do with them....if anything, but I was very pleased....and he was so pleased with himself.....it was raining and he went out in the rain to his truck to get them to show them to me.
