Do all window tx have to match?
Comments (6)OK, this is making me feel better. I am having a hard time making decisions lately (8-month pregnancy hormones, I think). I got a great deal on some white blinds from JCPenney ($36 for a 47" wide blind on super-duper sale) so I will try them out at least. Since they were cheap, I ordered one for the guest bedroom too to see how it looks, but I won't stress if I don't like it. Whew! Sweeby - I REALLY wanted the maple to work. I incorporated several baskets, colorful fabrics, etc, to see if that made the maple have context, but they still look weird to me. A better decorator might make them work... I will try to post a picture as soon as I get the valance finished and hung. Everything about the nursery makes me smile but the window right now....See MorePlease help with kitchen/great room window coverings :)
Comments (9)Beautiful space. Do you get lots of light in from that window? The cabinets are dark and I think natural light would be wonderful so keep the coverings on the light side, not the heavy rich stuff of the early 90s. A window shade or curtain should have a bit of space. If you are buying something from Smith Nobel, JCP, Macy's or some such place they will have specific instructions for mounting. I do not believe it will rub the paint off. There will be a bit of damage to the walls as screws into the wall will need to be puttied when you take down curtains later. My favorite place for window covering is Calico corners... Have you visited a shop? They are so much fun. Here is a link http://www.calicocorners.com/ I like fabric as fabric can really soften a space. Although if you love bamboo or woven shades that can be nice too. Comments (14)Yes, you can order just the headboard and use a heavy duty bed frame. That's what I did with the Charles P Rogers iron bed in my guest room. I love the look of the footboard but didn't have much space. Brass Beds of Virginia also offers a low footboard for its iron beds. I like that option better than no footboard because I think the interlocking frame makes for a more sturdy bed. If you go to their website and click on a bed you like you might be able to see an illustration of what the low footboard option would look like....See MoreWallpaper to match my valance fabric in powder room?
Comments (17)Nice but most would not fit in with your sage paint. I’ve found the easiest way to get your room coordinated is to find the fabric (or wallpaper) you want to use first and to pull colors from that for the other elements in the room. Now that you’ve decided to redo the cornice, you need to either find a paper that will work with your paint or find a wallpaper that makes your heart sing (which it really should) and then you can choose the colors from the print for the paint and window fabric. If repainting isn’t an option (which I can totally understand if it isn’t) What might be a good idea for you to do is to take a sample card of your paint color to the wall paper store and see what options it has that will work with your color choice....See Morerobynpa
