Why can't I get a straight answer?

Can an EasyTouch 8 control the Intelliflow VF? The pump will control the filtering, the spa, and the cleaner sweep.

I am getting mixed answers and I am not sure if my PB really knows for sure either.

The pool store down the road says it will.

Does anyone know from experience if this set up will work?

It will work but as soon as you plug it in on the Rs485 cable, it becomes a VS 4x160. no variable speed and missing most features.

You 'da man repair guy.
Now I have to find out why my PB is telling me that it is OK.
And I am going to demand that I get the Intellitouch for no upcharge.
I asked him repeatedly to find out for sure if they are compatible, and he asured me that they were.
I will let you know what his response is.

There have been a lot of studies on spinach germination. It has been found that the "NaOCl/H2O2 method" ensures almost complete and prompt germination. Complete and prompt germination is a major marketing benefit. You can look up that method. Papers online. Seems to work in many kinds of seeds. I have not tried it, but next time I do seeds that don't like to germinate, I'll be trying it. "NaOCl/H2O2 method" is defined as - 4 hour soak in 0.5% NaOCl, followed by water soak for 15 hours, followed by sowing in 0.3% H2O2. You need the water soak to completely get rid of the NaOCl, which interferes with seedling growth. Shake it! Laundry bleach (e.g. Clorox) is 5% NaOCl. Topical antiseptic hydrogen peroxide is 3% H2O2. So we're talking 10:1 dilution of each. FWIW, the NaOCl also sterilizes the seeds, so they don't carry bad bacteria. It is said that NaOCl neutralizes germination inhibitors in the seed coat. H2O2 actually helps break down the seed coat, but does not interfere with seedling growth. I've heard that mild acid baths also help break down the seed coat.

The red dots are just where I am assuming I need a light. I havent decided on pendants, recessed, etc yet. I've got double hung windows that will have have about 5 inches of wall above, plus maybe 4-5 inches of trim. I'm not sure how low the lights can hang there, but I do really like the look of pendants. I don't have a lighting budget decided yet, but will likely go with more budget friendly options on things that can easily be changed down the road in 5 or 10 years when I may be itching to change things up a little bit. I dont want to spend more than necessary, but will invest in quality XYZ if it will save us time and money in the long run. I do like the style of lighting in that first pic, and I also like schoolhouse pendants. My house is a 1905-1911 (unsure of when it was built!) American foursquare. The chandelier in the dining room, has been here since at least 1950.. I really want to pick lighting that compliments my kitchen choices and the era of the house and also make sure I have plenty of lighting in the right areas. I am going for an "evolved over 100 years" mix of old and new and am open to ANY suggestions. Thanks!!

The color in the foyer and LR and stairs will look different in the office because it is a more enclosed space, and little light gets in. I think the Oak that you love elsewhere might go muddy in that room, and you will end up hating it. I would think about the teal, but be sure that the color is ÂclearÂ, not greyed or dusty, or you will end up with the same issue. I think the cherry desk, woven chair and neutral rug would work fine with that, and it would become a fun office space, rather than just another gold-brown space. Can the fabric on the chair be changed? You could look for a fabric that brings in the teal, if it is not already in the tropical print. Another choice would be red - but that would partially depend on what color cherry the desk is, and what color the flooring is.

Ditto to what prorange said. The only thing I don't know is if mowing slows them down. Last year I sprayed or pulled them before I could see if 2+ weeks of mowing would eliminate them. I didn't have the patience for it. Hopefully the weather will dry out enough for me to mow sometime this weekend. I am using a reel mower this year so I should be able to cut off the majority of the leaf. Once again, I have no patience so if it looks like they are growing back, I will spray them sometime this week. I looked at weed ID sites last year and thought it resembled pokeweed or pigweed. I got so frustrated last year I pulled some and took them to my county extension office. They couldn't ID it either. My guess is it's a perennial and not an annual which is why my pre-emergent isn't touching it. I have no idea how or why it started growing in my yard last year out of no where. Prorange, I STRONGLY recommend Ortho Weed B Gon for southern lawns. I used the concentrate form and mixed it in a tank sprayer. I diluted it with water a tad bit more than what the directions specified but the weed was dying within 24 hours and the damage to my grass was minimal. This stuff works fast and it works well. If you have solar I would not go with that combo. The IntelliTouch does not take the smarts from a VF and it's a waste of money. w/o solar, you're cool.

In my opinion, unless you have a need for more than 4 speeds, anytime you plug an IntelliFlo into any automation, it should be a 4x160. The VF should be for stand alone applications.

Good luck in getting that unit for the same cost.

No solar here. I am supposed to have the VF control the filtering, sweep, and the spa. The infinity edge is on a separate 2 hp whisper flo.
My pool is 29,500 gallons.
Does this sound OK?
Also, I don't quite understand when you say that as soon as I plug the intelliflo i to any automation that it should be a 4x160. Can you elaborate. You are the only person out of quite a bit that seems to understand this beast.

If a VF is connected to a SunTouch or EasyTouch via the RS485 cable, the system recognizes it as a VS, not a VF. It will literally convert it to a VS. All buttons of the VF correspond to the VS buttons and it will be a 4 speed pump. It loses everything a Vf has that a VS does not.

It can be resurrected with a complicated button sequence.
